Lithuania

I may be going to Lithuania soon. I was wondering what differences, both cultural and mannerisms, are there between Ukraine and Lithuanian women (if any)? I get the impression that Lithuanians resent Russians and perhap Ukrainians because of the past political situation. Also, any recommendations for "must" places to see in Vilnius? Thanks!

I spent a few day there in Vilinus this past summer.
I would recommend Minstralai, sp?, a disco/bar downtown.
Also go to the former prison, located downtown, used to be russian jail, very scary place, but well worth the visit, its free. Has wet cell and padded cell.
I stayed at a cool hostel, near the train station, Old Town hostel, cheap $8/ day.

From what I understand, there is a high level of intolerance between all the ethnic groups.  Tartars, Kafkans, Russians, Poles, Slavs, Croats, Albanians, Ukrainians, etc. all feel that the other ethnic groups are somehow inferior.  Thus, there is a lot of predjudice and sometimes animosity that seethes among the different ethnic groups.

Bringing a FSU woman to the US is going to be an eye opening experience for the both of you.  You may well find that your fiancée/wife is highly predjudiced.  I sometimes have a difficult time with my wife, when it comes to other races.  I am working hard to adjust her thinking, or at least keep her from voicing her more predjudiced thoughts.

the big difference in Lithuania & Ukraine is that the former is predominantly Catholic and the latter Orthodox. Vilnius is a fairly sleepy city there are a few decent eateries and an Irish pub. It is the capital but the city Kaunas is probably as interesting or more so? Enjoy it
