Another Newbie

Thought I'd introduce myself to everyone, and ask a few questions.

Right now I'd consider myself more of a looky-loo when it comes to the search for a Russian bride.  Haven't quite reached a point where I'm financially capable of conducting a serious search, and still harboring a ton of scepticism.

I jumped onto a site called Introglobe, and posted a profile some time back.  It was done on a whim more than anything.  Been getting some letters coming in, and writing to a few women.  Anyone have any experience with this particular agency?  It's part of the European Connections conglomeration.  I've read some other sites which list them on their blacklist (perticularly the e700).  Some of the correspondence I've received doesn't quite jive with what I've read about RW, and I'm wondering if I'm being overly paranoid about it.

This leads me to a second question.  One of the women I've been writing to is in Moldova.  Lots of stuff here about the Ukraine, anyone got an opinion about trips or women in Moldova?

Moldova is a little more off the beaten path and fewer people want to venture away from the major cities in Ukraine and Russia.  Most people go to Kiev, Moscow and Saint Petersburg.  

European Connections is honest and I think their competitors want to scare business away from them because they are the biggest tour operator.  I wrote a lot about advantages and disadvantages of tours and you can search the archives at the top of this page.  Tours are the more expensive way to go and a lot of guys here prefer Jack's Firstdream for personal service.   If you go on your own try to set something up with a good Russian or Ukrainian agency.  It's a lot harder to figure out who the good foreign agencies are.  

A couple of the guys here liked E700 and recommended it to me.  It's not cheap but they have a discount deal now.  On E700 emails you get a lot of emails from women you don't want to hear from, so just check their profile out first and only respond if you want to.

You might check the archives for posts from JohnCC.  He was romancing a hottie there.  He may have even moved there as he no longer posts here.  The archives have a wealth of material, take a look at them.

Moldova is blossoming into a good hunting ground. The economic situation is terrible there and the current government is communist on the Romainian side. One thing that is important to know about Moldova. It is a divided country. One side is mostly ethnic Romanian and the other is ethnic Russian/Ukrainian. There are 2 governments there as well. You need to know on what side of the country your girls are on because travel from one side of the country to the other is problematic. I think you can either fly to Kishinev(Capital of the Romanian side) or to Tirasol(unoffical Capital of the Uk/Ru side) but I don't know if you can fly from Kishinev to Tirasol directly. I have heard of problems with bus and train travel between the two sides. Robberies, kidnappings, and excessive bribes along that frontier. There also may be problems with ladies getting a passport on the Uk/Ru side because of the disputes with autonomy.

Hi Clay!  Welcome to the board!  I would be very wary of e700.  When I did this several years ago, I used it and felt that the letters were being written by someone other than the lady I was talking to.  You might want to check the archives for other experiences.  I think it is fair to say that there are lot better agencies on the internet than this one.

Regarding Moldova, I visited there last summer with my wife as she has relatives there for a couple of days.  It is a very poor country but, like the rest of the FSU, has many beautiful and well-educated women.  It's certainly worth a shot.  If you find a woman there that you like, you might consider meeting her in Kiev or Odessa and, if things click, you can then go on to Kishinev to meet her family, etc. and, if things don't, you can pursue other opportunities in those cities.

I don't know anything about Introglobe but I advise you to get the lady's home address and phone number and not rely on e-mail alone.  I also advise to ask your lady if she could meet you in Odessa or Kiev first and then if all goes well, you would agree to meet her family in her home town.  The reason I advise this is because it is easier to travel to Ukraine than Moldova, you can meet other ladies if the Moldova lady does not work out and at the same time only need one visa.
