I am in need of a private investigator in the St. Petersburg area.  If anyone can forward me some contact info for anyone who can conduct some surveillance work for me in that area, please let me know.  Thanks.

... in response to private investigator?, posted by dcphaethon on Jan 26, 2002

It exposes both you and your lady to an element in the FSU that is totally untrustworthy.

The 'system' does not work the same way there as it does in western countries. Information is largely NOT computerized - and even if someone were to find access to the little information that *is* available, what's to prevent him from hitting-up your lady for a bribe so that he doesn't divulge a bad report - WHETHER THE BAD REPORT IS TRUTHFUL OR NOT!

You really need to think about this carefully.

... in response to Why? This is Almost Always a REALLY Bad ..., posted by Dan on Jan 26, 2002

Most private investigators provide you whatever information you ask for, regardless whether it's the truth or not.  If they can't find something, they often make it up.  Go back a couple of years in the archives and see if you can find Gary SM's little tale of woe.  He hired a private investigator and ended up with results that were doubtful.

Personally, I think it is likely to be a waste of money.

As always, this is simply my 2¢ and strictly my opinion.  Your mileage may vary.
