Haven't seen the movie.

Caught Kidman on Jay Leno.

Yes, they (Jay especially) used the "L" word in referring to the guys...

They seemed to have a good time laughing at everyone involved in it.

Claire would have loved it.

... in response to Bias -- oh yeah.. what did you expect?, posted by MarkInTx on Jan 20, 2002

Remember those old commercials?  One of the actors from an old medical show (Marcus Welby, MD?) sitting on a desk in a white lab coat hawking aspirins or something?  Yeah, right, like I'm going to trust your opinion as to what aspirin to buy.  I think I'd rather talk to a real doctor instead.

Same goes for Nicole.  Her opinion of the MOB route rates right up there with the fake doctor actor hawking aspirin.  Still it's a little irritating to see someone use their stage presence to slam something they don't understand.  Her perception of the whole thing is probably based on the script she read.  Sounds like she didn't bother to do any research, just swallowed all the hype hook, line and sinker.  In that respect, she won't be in character.  A Russian lady is going to be not so trusting.

I suspect that the movie will be far from realistic, but Marina and I will take a gander at it when it comes out.  Might be worth a few laughs at least...

Actors look good (or sometimes not) and some of them can actually act, but a whole lot of them are dumb @sses.  So many of them only got to act because their daddy was famous.

I hate for people to think that we are all losers when I meet some very successful men on these trips.  On my last trip we had a dentist and surgeon from Beverly Hills, a state supreme court judge and a very wealthy businessman. The doctors were very cultured and the girls flocked to them.  The businessman was pretty rough and I don't think many girls would want him no matter how much money he had.

On my first tour to St Pete I had to share a room with somebody on the way.  I roomed with this guy I thought maybe was a real loser.  He had made over half a million a year as a lawyer and decided then to become a judge instead because the stress level was too high as a lawyer.  He had to work over 70 hours a week typically and he got fat and out of shape as a result.  I can understand that because the same thing happened to me in my profession. The initial impression he made upon me was unfavorable because of his appearance but he turned out to be a nice guy.

Anyway, basic point is that I know some weird guys do this but there are a lot of successful guys that do this too.  Personally, I would like a girl as beautiful and educated as the first wife I had, but just not a b!tch.  Hopefully, as more and more guys do this it will become more socially acceptable.

reading and posting on the message board last year... I swear, the stuff we talked about was so very informative.  If it wasn't for JB and his coaxing me to go to the Ukraine, I would still be a outsider looking in.

Now I'm kinda of a insider looking out.  But I still haven't got my lady over here, I'm getting these bad vibes from her.  Hmmm.

I scan through the post on a daily basis, it's just too fun not to.

I think a lot of women would like to live in your town unless they're used to big cities.  That's a real pretty area and there are some good scenic drives.  I've been through so much of the south.  If you get the outdoorsy type, she'd be in heaven.
