Most of you are unaware of the fact that the Orthodox Church observes Easter(Pascha) using a different date calculation than the Roman church. This can cause confusion since, more often than not, the Pascha celebration is later in the calendar than the western observance. Unlike Christmas, all Orthodox Churches celebrate Pascha on the same date that is calculated based on the Vernal Equinox and Jewish Passover.

Here is a link to the dates of Pascha over the next few years:

BTW, the Firstdream spring tour is scheduled right smack dab in the middle of Holy Week and Pascha. For those making the trip, it would be a good opportunity to observe the Orthodox Church celebrations at their finest. I'm sure many streets will be shut down during the processions of Holy Week.

The correct date and all…  Speaking of that sort of stuff…
While in Kiev it is a must see to check out the St.Sophia Cathedral actually check out as many squares and parks as you can they are a real treat.  You have to pay to go in and there is a special price to be able to take pictures.  What I like about it is that you can walk right up to the old paintings, furniture, altars and the like. Go ahead reach out the touch it.   My favorite was the Great Bell Tower, The highest monumental structure in Ukraine (96 m) 314 feet. It’s a great place to take pictures.  Lets put that height in perspective.

The Gateway Arch (St. Louis) towers 630 feet in the sky while the Washington Monument is 555 feet high. The Arch is two times taller than the statue of liberty.  Eiffel Tower reaches 984 feet into the sky. That's 354 feet higher than the Arch. The Sears Tower in Chicago stands at 1,454 feet. That's 824 feet higher than the Arch. The Great Pyramid is 180 feet shorter than the Arch. That would make the  great pyramid them taller than the “Great Bell Tower” but not even close to the tallest building in the world. Petronas Towers 1 & 2 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at 1,483 feet or 452 meters.
