... in response to Oatmeal... Exceptional timeline..., posted by LTB on Dec 19, 2001

First I should say that my packet arrived at the TSC on October 26th.  The first NOA was dated on November 7th.  The second NOA was dated on November 27th.

As soon as I got my second NOA, I called Warsaw and asked them to open a provisional file.  A few days later they e-mailed me and gave me the case number (WRW number).

I had my fiancee in Odessa to download the OF-169 from the internet and fill it out and send it to Warsaw.  She did not have the WRW number to put on the form but I talked with Warsaw just this morning and the lady said that it was not needed as long as her name, signature, and mailing address is on the form.

As of yet they had not received her OF-169 but as soon as they do, they will schedule her for an interview and send her Packet 4.  I also faxed them a copy of the OF-169 with the case number on it just to see if it would speed things up any.

I feel confident that I have done all that I can do at this point to get her the earliest interview date so again all I can do is wait.  The lady said that I should call back after Christmas to find out the interview date, as they shut down Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for Christmas.

She said that now they are scheduling interviews around the end of January or beginning of February so I am expecting an interview date around that time which would be good because it will give my fiancee time to finish her exams at the University.

I am not sure if I did anything special to expedite my case but I think that becuase I am single (never married-no kids) and she is single (never married-no kids) that there was less paperwork to go through.  I tried to put my I-129F application together as orgainized as I could and used the doc steen site to help me prepare my packet.

Maybe I was just lucky or maybe it was all in timing.  If you think about it.  Most guys who travel, go in the summer months and I would think that most (if they find a fiancee) would apply as soon as they get home so maybe I just filed after the summer rush.

I don't know why I have gotten through the system so fast but I am just glad that I have.

A sincere thanks to all who have assisted with my questions in the past regarding this process.

and after they receive the completed packet 3 checklist, will Warsaw  schedule the interview date, EVEN if they haven't received the paper documents from the INS?  Or do they sit on it until then?

I cannot say for sure but my impression was that they would need to have the actual paperwork in hand before they would give an interview date.

The paperwork is not necessary to get the provisional file opened which will get you your WRW number which will get you in line for the interview.

Keep me posted on how it goes and I will do the same.

It also depends on Regional INS office. Lincoln ( Nebraska ) being the slowest in process..Vermont, the speedest ( in general ). My first NOA (receipt), Nebraska,  was Sept.26, second NOA ( approval )Nov.15th . I faxed and emailed Warsaw OF-169 on Nov. 25th , received provisional file # ( WRW ) on Nov. 28th.  I inquired about my interview about a week ago. Today ,Warsaw , emailed me stating my case ( interview ) most likely be held in second part of January /beginning February . One more note, there is a list of interviews held each month posted on US Embassy in Warsaw web pages. For month of December they`re handling cases up to 200131..., mine starts 200133..it kinda gives you general idea      John
