Has anyone thought of just having your lady just immigrate instead of going through all the K-1 B.S. ? It seems too obvious a "loophole" for immigration not to say something. But on the other hand, I know a russian woman here that immigrated and met a man and got married. But the difference is they did not know each other before she got here. Anyway, can it be done this way? Or is it just as much hassle? I await your wisdom. :-)

Speaking for my wife ( who just left for work )Inna said she would never consider coming here under any circumstances other then an honest approach. RW are not some sort of product that you can smuggle in or what ever. For many of these proud women just coming here because of meeting their husband over the internet, or an agency is embarrasing. Trust me I know the waiting period for a k-1 can drive you nuts, but in the end it is the best way.

Immigrate or just visit "indefinately" and become a citizen when President Bush gives amnisty to the millions here already. That new law in process now.
Too many illegal or should we call it "undocumented" aliens now. I must be politically correct in my wording. Where are they coming from most Mexico but also from the Carribean countries, China and elsewhere. Semi out of control as far as monitoring permanent visitors to USA.
President Clinton gave amnisty to the "undocumented " ones 10 years ago but since then 2 - 3 million more are in our country. I see no end to it because 95% of those who try to cross the border at unsupervised locations do get through OK. The other 5% just try again and have a 95% chance of getting through.
I'm not really advising having you RW follow that route, but then again, it could be the easiest and cheapest. Biggest disadvantage is she my feel a little "uneasy" about it. However her standard of living will be so improved that she'll forget what procedure you're following.

...Ya think they just pass out visas at the embassies on Thursdays? lol...You think she can just cross the Rio Grande any time she wants?

You need to learn how the system works. It's not that easy to immigrate, the ways are limited. Does she have family already here? Is she in the current INS visa lottery?

Stick with the K1, or marry her there and do it the hard way. I don't think the Life act may be all it's cracked up to be at this point.

Btw, if you're the same Chris who emailed me about my DOJ connections, it was not a very cool thing to ask. I feel for ya, but come on, what would you do in my situation?

Good luck.....

Immigration is either lottery (very poor odds), work visa (slightly better odds but must be sponsored by a legit company), student visa (good luck), other visas with even less odds (tourist, etc.) or K-1 with 99.9% odds.  Pick which one you prefer!

Just a thought really. I had no real intention of anything other than a K-1. I did not know how hard it would be for someone to imigrate. I mean, they wil let a terrorist in no problems, but a 25 year old russian girl? LOOK OUT!!!! I won't go off on that rant.Anyway,I was just hopeing for a better, easier way. sigh.Sorry LP, I am not the same Chris. I don't have much time to look at this board. I work from 7 am to 9:30 pm mon-fri and weekends are busy.So comouter time is rare. Thanks for the info guys and good luck with your search/lady.
