Here is something I have taken from another Board cut and pasted it.

The breakdown of percentages of the various women's age groups from
MOB agencies that marry American men.

18-20     20%
21-25     41%
26-30     24%
31-35     11%
35+            4%

61% under 25!  And 96% of these women are under 35, with an average of a 15
year age gap........

The author refers to www.cis.org ( center for immigration studies) as the source; he asks to do a search at the site under " Mail Order Brides " and read the whole article.

If you've been reading the board for a while then you may have already seen this.  It was a scatter plot of age differences of American men that married Russian women.

Really, how much is too much?  If we outlive Russian men by 9 years or maybe 20 years as typical in my family, then how young should the woman be?  When I went to Latvia I met one girl's parents.  The father was 2 years older but looked 10 years older.  The mother was a few years younger than me, but was overweight and having many health problems.  I think most of them age badly but I can only guess why.

Once again, if you look at the data it doesn't say what you are suggesting.  First, the study is a 1996 study by a guy at the Univ of Florida who surveyed several agencies and made some extrapolations based on Filipino women.  The guy ASSUMES the same percentages are applicable to RW.  So there's no data on RW.  Second, I think the motivations and culture of Filipino women and the men seeking such women are significantly different than RW and their AM suitors that it would be inappropriate to draw too much from his assumption about the "average age difference" between AM and RW.  Finally, the number of agencies for RW has increased dramatically since 1996 as well as the ability of these women to access the internet for correspondence.

If someone really wants to get some reliable data, they should 1) count the K-1's issued from the FSU over the last 3 years and break it down by age; 2) of those who came to the U.S. on a K-1, how many applied for AOS broken down by age data and how many returned to the FSU or did not apply for AOS.  That might be more reliable than looking at 5 year old studies on Filipinos.   The INS did a study on that several years ago, but it was not specific as to the FSU women.  Until that study is done, I think all we have is a lot of anecdotal data and in many cases incorrect generalizations.

The age breakdown is certainly interesting.
I would caution however the the numbers maybe, just maybe, distorted a bit by the large number of
Philippine women marring AMs.
The age difference there is somewhat larger than FSU countries.
