I haven't heard anything myself and I usually become aware of these types of things pretty quickly.  What exactly did you hear and where did you hear it?

i heard this about 5 hours ago from a gentleman living in nevada who has his fiancee living in kherson.

he said that the procedure in marrying your girl in ukraine had just gotten more difficult due to the ins changing some previous policies.

i will call and try to get a more defined explanation. to me it sounded a little strange but he is a reliable fellow.

...procedures are based on the USC, ie, federal law. There can be no changes in the USC without them being published in the Federal Register along with the suitable comment period.

While a lot of stuff happens and sneaks through without much notice, I would think any immigration changes would be newsworthy considering the current climate.

I seriously doubt this is true. Of course, I could be wrong but typicaly stuff doesn't just "happen", our fine gummint doesn't work that way. Sometimes, about somethings, I wish it did.

lol...Say, your pal wouldn't be old Spyke now would it?

no lp, i really don't know spyke or much about him other than he is my inspiration to learn written english

but relating to this other matter. you know how when someone tells you something and you really don't believe what he is saying but you know him to be an honorable person, that is the situation with this guy. i think he must have heard such a thing from some un-informed person and maybe he thinks it is true.

USC = United States Code (also USCA - United States Code Anoted {with case law})

Check your public library or county law library if you wish to read or consult it..  (Sorry, I used to be a librarian.)

You are absolutely correct. Any changes in the USC must be
published in the Federal Register. And yes, any BIGTIME changes we would have heard about. My wife and I were married 10 days ago in Vladivostok. We had no problem whatsoever with the American Consulate. Now the Russian Gov't was a different story. They gave us hell. In fact,
what they put us through would probably make B.B. King cry!!
Smiley But, it all worked out in the end.

... I almost fell for a young girl from Vlad, they seem kinda special way out there, different from "normal" Russians. I hear it's a beautiful place also, too bad the Russian government takes such poor care of the place.

Sadly, I heard many people froze to death there last winter from a heating crisis, I hope they do better this year.

Good luck to you.
