First, I would like to sincerely say that I am sorry that things are not working out as you planned.  I hope that your relationship has not gone so bad that you have given up all hope to save it.  The adjustment period is very frustrating for both sides unfortunately.  I know that you feel like you are being overwehlmed by her inexperiences with this country, but you should have expected it.  I know that you as the man have to take on a lot more of the responsibilities because of her lack of knowledge about our systems and procedures.  It IS a hard road for you at this point.  

I just want to tell you that if you have the patients, it will get better.  It takes much more than six months for  RW to become acclamated here.  Remember all the reasons why you got married in the first place and give her time to adjust.  Nothing good comes without a price.  Try to be more understanding to her critisims of American culture.  Some of them are correct.  In time she will learn that there are many good things here too.  She has been brought up with a great deal of Russian pride.  That pride does not go away completely (nor should it).  Open your mind to HER problems of adjustment and help her through it.  Your relationship will be stronger because of the hardships you two face.  Best of luck to you both.

ps (Teaching driving to your spouse has to be one of the most frustrating things to do.  She is not a child, yet you tend to treat her as one because she has such limited experiences in this area.  Invest in some driving lessons and remove this part of your frustration)

Barry,
I know that "Nomo" is probably David.  I know that David said some stupid things in the past.  The way I read Nomo's post is that he is having a frustrating and difficult time in his wife's transition to American ways.  I didn't see where he insulted us (yes he did insult Russians).  I am more than happy to extend a helping hand to him in his time of need.  My wife Lena has also offered to help his wife in her transition should Nomo want her to do so.

So, I take it you are admitting to being David SD since you didn't argue the point.  I find your story interesting, the last I had heard of you you were supposedely bringing your Russian fiancee here.  Everything was perfect between you two, but everyone else was a idiot for wanting a Russian bride.  Now everything has gone to crap and you are blaming her, the Russians, your neighbors, and everyone else but yourself.  Maybe if you weren't such a loose cannon things wouldn't be so bad.  You have talked crap about Russian men forever and your so called survey about Sept 11th was completely pulled out of your rear end.  You think you are so much better then they are, but now you realize that you can't make her happy and feel as if it's her fault.  What a joke!  Look in the mirror David, you will see why she is the way she is.  Now maybe you'll realize that even a Russian guy could make her happier than you do.

All I did was burst a couple of guys bubbles that they could get a young girl.  I get so sick of old men thinking they can get someone 20 years younger then they are, so yes, I played a little game with these idiots and they fell for it.  My wife helped out so it wasn't totally my doing.  It's not some perverted thing as you make it out to be.

And do you know what is the most funny part of it all Jeff? That fact that apparently you don't think there was anything wrong with doing it.
