Odessa Trip- Re: Flats and Interpreters-

If anyone is going to Kiev, I have the name, email and phone of a nice, honest interpreter there as well as info on a very nice, inexpensive flat ($20-$25 per night) 3-5 minutes drive from city center.  Just let me know if you would like the info..

I would like to know if anyone has any info on a good flat (hopefully as reasonable as my flat was in Kiev) in Odessa??  Also, if any of you have had an interpreter you thought was just terrific, (and not over $5 per hour) I would love to know about them as well!

Oscar this isn't pointed directly at you, but in general. These ladies are better than AW for wives, but not even worth minimum wage when it comes to services? I'm sick of tight wads and cheapskates trying to get something for nothing all the time! Think about helping them out a little, after all you are taking away beautiful and wonderful women from this country. Ok, I said my piece.

If you think that most people in Ukraine make $5 an hour, you are fooling yourself!  An interpreter making $5 per hour is doing very well!  A nurse there is lucky to make $50-$60 A MONTH (40 hour work week)!  I know, I have been there!  These people pay about $15-$25 PER MONTH for their flats and are making a KILLING renting their flats to us at $20 to $30 PER NIGHT!  Give me a break!

Cherokee this isn't pointed directly at you, but in general.  That may not be minimum wage here, however it does far exceed minimum wages there!  A point to take in consideration.  Also, I don't believe they are paying $700/mo. to rent an apartment, or $1.50 for a beer, or $50 a week for groceries, or $3.00 to ride the bus 15 blocks, or a lot of the other costs that minimum wage earners here in the US face.  Keep things in perpective folks.  $5.00 an hour x 8 hours x two weeks = $560!  Thats about a half years wages in just two weeks!  It's no wonder when they see Americans, they see $$$.  Heck, I'd be happy to spend two weeks translating for you over there at those prices )  I'm sick of men that go over there with more money than brains that think they can impress the women by throwing money around like it grows on trees.  Personally, I believe it propagates the whole scamming concept and further encourages the agencies to milk you for more and more.

Yes, you are taking beautiful women away.  But whose fault is that?  Certainly not yours unless your enslaving them.  OK, I've said my piece and I agree, don't spend to much

....cherokee. These guys are mostly tightwads, trying to get off as cheaply as they possibly can. They are so worried about losing a few bucks without getting anything in "return", they miss the point completely. Sure, like they would feel the same way if the situation was reversed and they were struggling.

When I'm there I freely give it away, from babuskas to waitresses. I once tipped a cute Kiev waitress 20 bucks, you woulda thought I'd given her a million, and she made my stay quite pleasant after that.

If these guys don't have the disposable income they shouldn't be involved. If they have it and withhold it, they are just being cheap bastards.

As for "ruining" it for other guys, I could care less.
I look out for number one, thats why I'm in it.

disposable income.  It's a matter of what you choose to dispose it on!  While some men (not you of course) try to come off as a real humanitiarians, its obvious how shallow they really are.  For example, babuskas to a cute waitress.  Not just a waitress, but a CUTE waitress.  Of course there is no mention of the guy who may have driven the cab, or was cleaning the streets.  No, its just about the women and how they can impress them by throwing a few dollars their way or in their presence.  LOL  And of course, "I look out for number one"  LOL  Well that's no surprise!  I'm sure the women see that too.  Hey maybe you can throw a few dollars towards the Ukrainian or Russian governments so they'll let you just taxi the the ole phallic symbol down the middle of downtown Kiev or Moscow and let you park it there!  You'd definately be in pig heaven then:)

Speaking of not getting it.  Just because some of us choose not to tip a CUTE waitress $20, doesn't mean we don't tip a waiter or waitress (she doesn't have to be cute) a few dollars.  Secondly, some of us are looking for sincere women that among other things, are interested in us for who we are not because it is so easy to impress them by throwing a few twenties around as if we are some big shot.  And yes, it is very easy to throw money around over there due to the relative cheapness of the whole trip.  Then again, some of us don't need to buy our women.

Babuskas aren't very cute, now are they? Why would I want to buy one of them? And *everyone* looks out for number one. If you don't, it's no wonder you need to count your pennies, eh? As far as what the women see, mine's right here. Where's your's? Mine sees me as as compassionate and generous, with all the rewards that brings to me from her. Wonder how your's sees your generousity, or lack thereof? Oops, forgot, she's thousands of miles away. Maybe you'd better pry loose some spare change so she can eat this week.

I see nothing wrong in being generous there. I receive little or nothing in return for my generousity to little more than strangers. After a few days with the last girl I met it was obvious from my side it may not gonna go anywhere. She related how they had spent most of their savings for an operation for her mother. (They paid extra to find a good surgeon, a common practice over there).

She refused to take the $200 I offered, so I punished her by hiding $400 in her luggage when she was in the shower, knowing I would likely never see her again. This was on the last day. Now, my intellectually gifted friend, did I buy her?? And what am I suspposed to do, list all the cabbies, "ugly" waitresses, ect, I paid extra? Am I supposed to say I overpaid Rostick and after that left him a further surprise in his bag? Did I "buy" him too? Hmmm...He didn't seem to mind.

It's no secret we are the richest people on Earth. (lol..It appears some more than others) The fact that we "throw" some cash around doesn't mean squat regarding FSU scammers. 95% of the guys who get scammed do so because they're stupid, didn't do their homework, or are thinking with the wrong head. As PT said, there's one born every minute. (Many of those seem to be living up your way.)

Me thinks you choose to "dispose" of it on yourself, if at all possible.
Even then, not much. (How's the old Buick doing?) Or you seem unwilling to part with it unless you receive "something" in return. lol... And you call me shallow? A typical attitude, you'll end up spending more because of the extra time it'll take. Better "buy" one now before all the good ones are gone. As for me, I'm finished, got the best one money could "buy".

My current short term A/W (actually Asian) mate, contrary to popular belief, is not at all threatened by FSU women thousands of miles away. She knows what most of them represent and agrees with my choice in that regards. She is well aware that she will someday be replaced, that was the agreed upon arrangement. She is too young for me to marry and knew that up front.

I needn't be completely alone while I'm tying up the details and I don't understand why you would choose to be either. In fact, in spite of all my "negative" posts about FSU women, one is on the way and is fully aware of the current situation. I don't believe in all that crap about being engaged, regardless what the INS wants. The fact is, it's all a trial for 90 days because there is no way to know in the limited time knowing these women. It either works out perfectly or she gets a 90 day taste, we'll see. lol...I suspect all will be fine.

If not, who cares? There's plenty more where either of these came from.

I'm not negative, just a realist. But you needn't worry about getting scammed, your way to tight for that. (Btw, I'll see what I can do to lower your miffing level. :-)

Relax, I understand your beef. It's actually quite common with private certificate holders towards their professional brethern. Besides, this medium is very poor at revealing all the facets of one's personality.
