Lugansk Girls Rock!!!!!!!!!

Well on the 11th of November I will making my first visit to the Ukraine. Former Soviet Union. Being a baby boomer and living with the propaganda of the Cold War it will be quite an experience. My approach is of course unique as are all of yours. I have picked out one city. With all the negativety and bad talking it really was an easy one. LUGANSK! LUGANSK! The scammer capital of the Ukraine. Why? Because if I can make it there I'll make it anywhere. Sound familiar? I have contacted 3 agencies and have a sightseeing tour scheduled around 6 ladies that I have been writing. Sightseeing in Lugansk you say. Well there were a couple of neat things I found that I will see. I also found an amazing painter from this city. I will visit his studio and buy a couple of his paintings. I am also going to visit the chess players from this area. Did anyone know that the Ukraine won the 5th World Team Championship in Chess last week. Many of the great chess players are from the Lugansk - Kharkov region. And lastly I will visit the Professor of Mathematics in Lugansk. I like Mathematics and he was willing to talk with me. So there you have it. Not only do you have hidden culture in this beaten down city but... you have beautiful women. Women who I feel are more anxious to leave and make a better life here in America. Then say a city like Kiev. Plus the women there have ATTITUDE. Yes, when you write over the internet the Agencies will do there best to sell you their translation and interpreter fees. That is part of the business and the process of communicating with women who are not fluent in English. Yes, the girls are in correspondence with a few men of choice. Aren't you ( with a few women that is)? So if they do not pick you do not cry scam or foul. Maybe they did not like you. At least for a lifetime mate. Just because you buy a girl a drink doesn't mean she is obligated to sleep with you ( or be your girlfriend ). Just because you write is about on the same level. This is the dating game my friend and like here in America all is fair in love and war. If you sent an abnormal amount of cash well "shame on you". Hey, when a girl here's about guys sending $200 $300 $400 $500 don't you think she would like to be the recipient of the same economics? Especially if she lives in a city where there is hardly any work. I mean if I was 20 years old and had some guy 40+ years writing to me from America I would see what he was worth myself. And why not! So you fell for those "I love you", "two hearts beat as one", when I look at the stars I see you". HAHAHAHAHA... I will say it again the LUGANSK GIRLS ROCK!

As I have written many times I myself ventured into this city by myself with no help from anyone accept the few friends here on PL board.  I had a wonderful time in this city (June, weather was just right) but I also stayed with a family that has lived there for many years so getting around and so forth was easy.  A trip this time of the year would be interesting I would love to here how things go for you.  They have a few Internet café’s so keep in touch.  I never ate at any restaurants or went to any clubs when I was in Lugansk so I can’t be much help in that area.  Stay warm!

P.S. You seem to have the right attitude, just go and have fun and do not expect much of anything to happen in the love area.  Just go and do the old meet and greet and you will leave a wiser man.

You go on a path so beaten, you'll need to be an EXPERT to do it right there. The mafia there made an art out of getting money out of naive foreigners.
One could possible find something good in Lugansk, but with a tremendous effort and work, certainly not through agencies, with translator, not by someone who doesn't even speak Russian.
It seems that all the wisdom and experience of this board didn't help you much, it's not that I wish you bad or try to be negative in my prediction, but considering that you don't sound very much attuned to the situation I want to be realistic.

But then, hey, everybody has to start somewhere, to cut his teeth in to it, so I wish you a good trip!!!

(In the least, you would have some paintings left if nothing else!)

Having visited Lugansk last Aug. I have it from a native
that the only mafia left in Lugansk are the police. The
former mafia were either shot or run out of town
including the mayor.

Getting any police help is another matter.

have to differ from your opinion chris as i have a friend in lugansk who owns a resturant and he has to make monthly 'roof' payments to a man who is not with the police department, he is with the local mafia
