Such a deal !!!!!

Yesterday I booked a double at the Grand Hotel in Warsaw (supposed to be the closest to the embassy) for six nights at 136 USD per night ($816).  I went through a travel agent but she was less than $2 more per night than Travelocity.

Today I stumbled across www.clickinternational.com and got the same room for the same 6 nights for a total of 381 USD.

Depending on the dates of your stay, the Grand Hotel runs consistently around $65 per night ($ range from $61 to $72 at present). Olya and I stayed at the Jan Sobiesky Hotel - a bit more upscale, but further away from the Embassy - and the rates are HIGHLY-variable (from $69 to $169!!). Our stay at the Sobiesky cost around $69 per night and was very nice.

Try www.1-warsaw-hotels.com   . Read reviews ,  Grand hotel and Solec hotel  are pretty sound ( $$$ and quality wise ). Don`t get screwed by cab drivers . Again, if possible use Radio taxi companies ( airport reps/information or hotel reception should help you with that ). Are you going there with your fiance`s kid ? ...luego     John

As for the kid, you may try  "KidsPlay" , a recreational center for children . Address ul.Sojki 31 ( near hipermarket Geant ) Warszawa(Warsaw)/Ursynow area , ph:644 4144 ,email :warszawa1@kidsplay.com.pl , opened 9am till 9pm . Another one called "Bajlandia" , ul.Samolotowa 4 , ph:672 4151 , email: warszawa#1@bajlandia.com.pl . Zoo : opened 9am till sunset , general admission around $2 . There are few McDonalds restaurants in the City. You may also ask female/receptionist at the hotel where you gonna be staying about local kids attractions. I hope it helps. John

Sasha is a joy to be around.  He hasn't picked up the pessimism that older Ukranians bask in.  Last time I was in Kherson he told me he was going to be a cowboy when he grows up.

Last month I bought a little black and white pinto pony that a friend of mine is gentling.  That will be his surprise when we walk out to the barn.
