Any tips on reasonably priced health insurance for fiancee during 90 day visa period?

Jake asked earlier, but no tips so far.  I'd like to know too, if anybody can advise.

Send her $$$ to purchase Traveler's Insurance there.  She should need 90 days worth.  If things don't work out and she goes home, she's covered till she gets back.  If things work out and you get married, you can put her on your medical insurance after you are married within the 90 day limit.

She should be able to arrange it at a reputable travel agent there.

I strongly disagree.  The "risk" may be small, but if you're wrong you could be hit for a catostrophic bill.  Just a couple of days in the hospital can run $10-15,000.  To avoid that it's worth the cost of the insurance as suggested above.  You're crazy to go without health insurance.

Read the entire set of posts by lebaron entitled "The Eagle has land -- parts 1,2 and 3".  A steep medical bill is not a good way to start a new life together.  I'm not trying flame tfcrew but people should be aware of the financial risk in having no medical insurance or coverage.

Of course I was surprised to read of this mysterious illness and will be glad to hear of a complete recovery.
I consider the Davet post hardly a slam.
There is always an exception. However, I still feel that a 90 day stay is a "minimum risk". $800 bill not withstanding. Part of the extras we pay. Some get lawyers involved in this process !!!
When we were married, Svetlana became my family and was added to my health ins. policy immediately. No ss# was required.
Good luck to all.......

One site that leads to health insurance quotes.  Fortis seems to be the only one giving quotes for Oregon.  Your state may differ.  I played around a little -- if you go for the full 90 days as a prepaid item versus month to month for 90 days, it's cheaper.  (BTW -- I have no financial or other interest in the health insurance area or this site, I just a possible future user like you.)

Do a google.com or dogpile search for health insurance.  I can't find the site right now but I found a company that would insure you for any selected time period -- 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, etc.  The more days, the cheaper the insurance.  If I remember correctly it was about $200 for 90 days.  But a lot depends on age, deductable, etc.  My emphasis was finding a short term policy that would protect me (financially) and my lady (health wise) at a reasonable cost.  It was not as good a plan as my regular insurance but it did cover us for catastrophic problems.
