My Fiance recieved her interview date and package from Moscow before i recieved written notice of our approval. Strange?Huh I was thinking there would be atleast a month between the 2. Has this happened to anyone else??? I contacted Texas Service Center last week by mail to try to get my approval notice. I found out by phone only 10 days before she got her package. Im wondering if maybe there was cabling envolved?

Hey now,

I can't stress enough the importance of reading the immigration sites-particularly Doc Steen's but also Jonathan's. Takes care of many of these questions.

Here is a quick summary of some of the relevant info:

Approvals from TSC (Fed Ex) and VSC (cable) get to Moscow before you know it. No need for a provisional file.
CSC and NSC, it may be worth asking for a provisional file, since they don't get approvals to Moscow as quickly, at least when I last heard anything on the subject.

Need to remember that there is only one Packet in Moscow.  It has an interview date.  If your fiancee doesn't receive it, it could be a mail problem.  In the meantime, make sure she is not having problems with the things that slow people up--police certificates and international passports.

Interview dates are not very far out--a few weeks from receipt of the approval.  The fiancees who run into problems, it is almost always for documents (birth or divorce certificates, but most often police reports).  Make sure you and her both know what you need.  The information is available at the sites I listed, if you take the time to read it carefully.

Good luck,

Steve M

the embassy in Moscow emailed me to let me know that they received my file from the Texas Service Center and scheduled my fiancee's interview BEFORE I got my approval notice from Texas. I did not elect the cabling option.

Scott I have been told that the TSC FedEx the approvals to Moscow. John my fiancee still has not got packet 4 in the mail yet and I want to schedule the medical exam but I don't have any contact phone numbers and I can't seem to find them listed anywhere. Has your fiancee got her packet yet? Scott can you get some phone numbers for me? I seem to remember some comments on this board about some medical examiners to avoid. By any chance does anyone have a recommendation for an approved Moscow medical examiner? By the way I ended up by booking the 2 one way plane tickets to JFK on Aeroflot and charging them on a credit card. Cost $800 and doesn't cost anything to change flights.
Thanks

... in response to Phone number to schedule Medical Exam, posted by Peter Ryan on Oct 10, 2001

Hi Peter. My fiancee also has not received the packet from Moscow. I emailed them yesterday asking them to check into it and to send out another. I have not heard back from them yet.

Most have recommended I use the American Medical Center in Moscow. I sent them an email, and they answered my questions promptly and sent me a Microsoft Word attachment about what they will do at their facility. It was very informative. I am going to email them to schedule her medical exam. You can email them at moscow@amcenters.com If you want, I can forward you the info they sent me.

After she had priced tickets on her end, I too found it is just as inexpensive for me to book her flight from Moscow to New York on Aeroflot right here. Only $793 for her and her daughter and, as you have found out too, no charge to change flights. Can't beat that!

If you wouldn't mind forwarding it to me I would be most grateful and thank you so much for the email address. I was going to ring the embassy tonight and now I wont have to.

Below is cut and pasted info from Doc Steen page -- it may be a year old.  I remember somewhere that AMC was the recommended place.

American Medical Center 095-956-3366, fax -2306-- $100 adult/child (note address has recently changed to: Grokholsky #1,near the Prospect Mira Metro Station on the Green line...their web site has not yet been updated, I am informed)

AO Meditsina 095-250-9190, fax -9180-- $100 adult/$75 child

Filatov Clinic 095-423-7780, fax same?-- $95 adult/child

Intl. Org. for Migration 095-256-9334, fax -9326-- $70 adult/child

There is also one in Vladivostok, for those of you with Far East Region fiances. FYI, this list is in both English and Russian.

Would you mind sharing the exact dates of the various events -- date of approval, date you received approval, date your fiancee received packet, etc.

Thanks

Date Sent May 15th
Notice of Action June 5th
Approval by phone September 22nd, but it could have been earlier, i called that day though
My fiance Recieved her package with Medical exam instructions and K visa application with Interview date on November 15th on October 5th. I never faxed Moscow to start a provisional file, and she never got a packet 3. I thought we would have to fax the check off sheet with the Notice of Action, wait 16 days, then she would get packet 4, we would call to schedule interview but no! Things were slow but now moving fast. My fiance is coming in on Delta from Moscow to JFK, About the same price as Aeroflot. Be careful to check the luggage limits with all the new rules!!!! As far as the question about which place to have medical exam, my fiance studied english in Vancouver, so she had a medical exam done before in Moscow for Canada. She already called the clinic and set up a date. If anyone wants or needs the clinics address, phone # etc. Let me know, or email my fiance @ aron@sochi.ru, she will let you know.
Goodluck
