Unlike in the Philippines, it seems to me you have to really put out a sense of machismo in Colombia with a lot of those women. I have that, and I'm no fruit cake, but I really don't like to pull out my "John Wayne'--'Vince Diesel' kind of swagger--I do sometimes, but only when I need to put the hammer down. Down there, I think I'd be hammering a lot. In the USA--they arrest you for having a hammer if you're not a working carpenter. Literally--by law--if you have a baseball bat or hammer in your car, and aren't suited up for either, they can arrest you! I know a guy who bought a new handle for his old axe, who was taken in when they found the axe handle in his car! And if you so much as raise your voice a little bit and say to a woman "Why I oughta......" they can say you threatened them and you'll go to jail! Seriously!

Funny you mention that. While I live in a safe place where people generally leave their doors unlocked and keys in their cars. I have witnessed violence first hand in my life and have no intention of becoming a statistic or watch someone else become one again. I have a concealed weapon permit and usually have a weapon on me and I usually have a backup in the car. My car weapon varies because usually It depends on season as I hunt on occassion. Like now is pheasant season so I usually have a shotgun in the car to shoot one if the opportunity arrises. (In my state you can be in town with a loaded shotgun in the front seat, actually got pulled over once coming back from hunting and the officer saw it and just asked if I got my limit, wrote me my ticket and sent me on my way). Rest of the year I usually have something else in there to control predators, (racoons and coyote's can decimate pheasant, duck and deer populations.) My current rig to handle the late fall packs of racoons that come out at night near roadways and I need to be able to pull it out quickly.

I don't know Rob, is this guy really looking for happiness? sounds to me like he buying cookies, now, that is not necessarily a bad thing. If and only if he is perfectly clear on which kind of cookie he wants and he can tell them apart.

I'm not buying cookies or a woman. I have been searching for the one that completes me and thought I had it but then realized what I was looking for while going through a quick separation that left me heart broken but I knew it could not work out. I quickly discovered what it was exactly that was my problem and it is simple. I don't want a woman who emasculates men. In today's American society there is a huge lack of respect for masculinity and I cannot stand it. For example, name 3 current sitcom characters on television that are not portrayed as buffoons within 20 seconds, hell, I'll give you 30. This is my point, women today think it is just hunky dory to mock and make fun of masculinity and humiliate men. Who wants to be a partner or how is it even possible to love someone like that? So as men we withdraw and isolate ourselves from those women. If we date them we leave, if we are living with them or married we withdraw....and of course it's all our fault. I really lost hope in American women after about 30 dates. It just got to be the same thing, meet someone online and their pictures obscures the way they really look (The overhead selfie, or duck face). They show up and it's a big woman, OK benefit of the doubt I thought I was not hung up on looks and hope they have some fun personality but no. It's usually the "My life sucks, I don't NEED a man but I want you in my suffering life to take orders." Not always like that, I went out with many foxes that guys would leave their wives for and find the same kind of personality. I read that once a person separates from a long term relationship that they only give their date a less than 25% chance of a second. I can see why.

I had a grown woman at 32yrs old sit accross from me sit down for sushi and pull out her iphone and apologize that she is addicted to this new game on her phone as she pulls it out and starts playing it while chatting. OK, maybe she's not that into me I think as I pick up the bill at the end of the meal and hope a glass of wine at a vineyard will change her mind. Nope, she pulls out a cigarette (Which she said she was a non smoker online and just hours before) and continues with her phone. I basically walked to my car and left her there and she continued to call me fro a second chance for about a week.

I also went out with a deputy sheriff and holy crap was that ever a bad idea. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get a stalking order placed on a member of law enforcement?

But, in the end everyone I met over the age of 30 was like that. Now the college girls I dated between ages 21-25 were decent and I met some very mature ones for their age. I just could not have a long term relationship with one without feeling guilty over the age difference. After all my niece just went of to college.

Sorry if I sound like I'm being robotic in my selection. It's just I have been out with so many women that it seems the only ones out there are the discarded feminists that any self respecting man would not tolerate. All the good ones seem to be married already and I'm just sitting here going through the motions. My married friends say they are jealous to see me with a different woman as my "Flavor of the week" but in reality I'm jealous of them and their family, taking kids to games etc. I'm not a male chauvinist, I don't think men are better than women but I'm not going to shackle myself to a female chauvinist either.

Hey Rob ... to be a good carpenter in Colombia (at least on the coast), you have to use your saw (serrucho).

Nice 'bull pup' you've got there Fosgate--is that an HK? They build the Daniel Defense M4's near us and I may just have to get us one of those--I hear branches of our military's "Special Forces', as well as the Secret Service have adopted versions of them--very fine weapons. Not sure if the Secret Service can shoot straight, even with them as of late though, if the gist of recent news reports are accurate!

Anyway--although carrying a baseball bat in your automobile w/o a glove and ball can get you busted--or an axe handle you bought from Home Dept for the one you broke trying to take down a tree, our actual GUN laws here in Georgia are ironically the most lenient in the nation.

As far as I know--anybody who's not a felon, can openly carry a gun here--as longs as it's out in the open, as in holstered on your side--anywhere except in a school. Unless the owner posts otherwise, that even includes BARS--which even I think is overboard. I can just imagine some drunk redneck confronting another guy, accusing him of trying to take his girl....

But to keep a weapon hidden for personal security reasons, it's different. I do have a conceal and carry permit, which is about as easy to get (just more expensive) as a fishing license--but they do run a background check at least. I keep mine in my wallet under my driver's license, so the police know just in case they request an informal 'look see' in my vehicle--a measure of respect.

Anyhow, I got pulled over for not wearing my seatbelt last year. Police Officer asks to see my driver's license and notices my C&C permit. He asks: "Do you have any weapons in the car, sir?" I respond "Yes sir, I do--I have a 380 in my right pocket in its pocket holster" (tiny S&W Bodyguard, just under 12 oz w/ laser) and I also have a 45 in the glove box, officer." (match grade, bitone Springfield, 4.5' barrel, w/ Veridian green laser, Tru Glo sights)

Well, although it's not uncommon for back up squad cars to cover traffic stops, in no time at all, there were TWO additional squad cars behind me. Officer in charge initially unfastened his own gun's holster snap safety--probably S.O.P. Nonetheless, I was having a little 'Imodium moment' waiting, squirming in my seat, as I firmly kept my hands at the ten and two o clock positions on the steering wheel--in plain sight. Ten minutes later--10 minutes that seemed like 45 minutes, the officer--who looked to be all of 23 y/o, came back to my vehicle and said:"Sir--I am glad you're carrying firearms safely and securely--I am going to issue you a warning on the seatbelt violation. Please drive safely and have a nice day." God bless America, I thought!

I posted the story on the official S&W forums and it generated several 'likes'. LOL.

BTW, My wife, who's all of 5'0 tall and 92 pounds, ASKS me to bring her to the shooting range! She can go from our revolver, shooting 38p's, to a 40, down to a 9mm, to the 45 and then the snappy little 380 and she sometimes out shoots me! Her body movements are consistent, fluid and graceful. Only thing she prefers not to shoot is our Mossberg 12 gauge, "Street Sweeper"--with the pistol grip. I don't use them much myself--but she refuses to ever use a laser, saying "What if I need my gun and the battery's dead?"

Then again, I take her down to the Florida Keys fishing and dangnabbit if she doesn't sometimes catch more fish than me--and she never did ANY of those kind of things before coming to the USA nine years ago!

PS--Just looked back at your photo--noticed it's a not an HK--it's a SIG SAUER--no slouch there either!

IMHO Heckler & Koch is manufacturing the finest firearms on the planet these days. I know SIG guys, I know GLOCK guys, I knew Beretta guys. But every HK I've ever owned has stood up to whatever standard or test you can throw at it. I bought an HK USP .45 ACP 3 years ago and right out of the box I was grouping an inch and a half from the bullseye at 25 yards. Damn things will shoot until you get tired of holding it up. Long day at the range?....500 rounds, 1000...they'll keep on popping 'em out. Gun hasn't jammed on me once no matter how hot it got. I have an Ed Brown 1911. Damn pistol cost more than two grand and it still can't stand up against that HK. I'd sooner throw my Beretta Px4 Storm 9mm in the trash than get rid of my HK. It is my perferred side arm when I'm hunting and believe me when I say I've had to draw it in fear of being charged by a less than friendly hog.

One of the things I miss most about Texas is not being able to shoot or hunt here in Brazil. There are shooting clubs but they are more expensive than the damn gyms. Hopefully I can get up to Manuas for some Peacock Bass fishing next year.

It's neither. I guy I know built it. It's an AR15 pistol made with a Diamondback Arms barrel with 7.5 in upper on an Aero precision Lower, Magpul grip, Aimpoint Pro Holo Sight, Surefire m600 Scout light and a Sig SB15 brace instead of a stock. Went with a pistol config and the brace to avoid the need for an ATF $200 tax stamp and permission to make an SBR (Short Barrel rifle under 16in). That way if I move to another state I don't have to sell it or go through a paperwork chain to get permission to cross state lines with it. I used to collect firearms but sold many of them (they put me through college and paid the bills I made some stupid money off them and far better than any stock or bond I bought in the past). I traded this one I had priced at $1000 and the guy traded me straight up for it. His was valued at $2200 and unfired. I think I wound up with the better deal (Even though Tommy guns are really cool).

Little bit of gun porn for a couple of you.
HK That I sold.

Kimber .45 I sold

Pair of match .22 rifles I had. (Sequential serial numbers were his and hers until I split with my ex and sold them)

I loved this one. Ruger Vaquero in .45 Long Colt Single Action. I found a little shopkeeper in Vietnam that made me a gorgeous set of grips made out of water buffalo horn for $50. To find something remotely similar in the states would have been over $200. This one stayed in the family as a cousin of mine really liked how accurate it was. I sold it to him at a bargain with the coffin case.

Another AR that I own. A Windham Weaponry with Eotech EXPS3-4 Holo sight and I put in a gas piston system to get AK reliability.

Speaking of AK's. Sold both of these and a third one I had during the panic. I had bought them all at about $300 each two years before and sold them all at $900-1500 each during the rush.

IV,

I was wondering about his prospects in the Philippines--there are a lot of educated, gorgeous women there and even though Fosgate's 6'6' tall, there's plenty of stunners that are 5'7'--5'8'. Ironically, they're so tall that they have trouble finding guys there that can accept their height and they're very open to--especially to--a guy with blonde hair and blue eyes--that's like Willy Wonka's Golden Ticket there. If I had a dime for every Filipina that openly or secretly wished to have a baby with a blonde haired, blue eyed guy, I'd be very rich.

But I thought Philipino tempers were legendary and you certainly to not want to upset a Philipino woman. I could be wrong though. One of the problems all my life is that I look way young. Koreans and Japanese would always point that out to me.
This is how I looked a year ago off a balcony in Dallas TX at age 40.

Yeah I know people are probably screaming BS. Well this was me at age 25

And at 24

The problem is I think Dick Clark was hiding in my parents closet and came out when my father went to work. It's like I hit 25 and stopped aging for several years. The problem may be that I sit there and get carded all the time to this day and I would even meet people who thought I was a friends son. WTF? Maybe some of my problem with American women my age is they think I'm younger than them. Asian women always think I'm in my 20's. I went out with an korean student that about fell over when I told her how old I was. Showed her my ID and then brought a bunch of her friends over to have them guess my age etc making a big party out of it. They seemed to really like me.

Now people say I should consider myself lucky and their admiration. But like I said, it's a little tougher to get respect among your peers. Not to mention someday all these years will catch up to me and I'll probably suddenly age drastically over a couple years and people will be like "Holy crap what happened to you?"

Last week, I put on a bit of weight since last year after the break up but this is about as rough as I get after a hard night drinking with maybe 2hrs of sleep on my way to a wedding.

Texas is cool, Georgia's wide open, but when we are at our place in the Philippines, as a non citizen I'm not allowed to have a gun under the risk of serious long jail time, so it's a good thing the Missus is a wicked good shot!

HK makes some mighty fine guns, but like SIG--who's latest 45 is sublime, most guys in competitions around here don't use them, because of the muzzle rise and a slight tendency to shoot high. Most of those folks shoot tricked out Glocks. Of course, with experience you can adjust to the 'rise' on most pistols.

FN Herstal makes some great guns too--we sometimes shoot their absolutely wicked 'Five-Seven'.

Five-seven http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_Five-seven

it shoots 5.7×28mm ammunition--the bullets look like tiny weenie 308 bullets, but they can go through a cow or a car like butter. I hear in Mexico, the bad guys will happily give you an extra $4000 over retail for one. Originally designed to be adopted by NATO, then restricted to military and police--some 40 nation's military use it today, along with the US Secret Service.

It's made of super light weight plastic and feels like a very fine toy--a toy that weighs just 1.3 pounds and holds 30 of those little bullets--it's like an assault rifle in a wee lil package. Darn gun has almost no recoil--reminds me of my first gun-- the Crossman C02 powered pellet pistol I used to shoot out neighbor's clotheslines with--except it's much lighter. Shoots sooo flat and accurate. They have modified the civilian issue bullets a bit so they won't go through bullet proof vests as easily.

The ballistic studies on the Five Seven are mind blowing, but to my surprise--more than almost any handheld weapon--nothing--not even 99% of assault rifles, penetrates like a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with a lead slug.

http://www.theboxotruth.com/the-box-o-truth-6-ballistic-resistant-glass-gets-tested/   Box o' truth is a great site!

I live in a military town and Beretta--the oldest gun manufacturer on earth, has a pretty bad rep with most of the real Army gun guys, who despise the Model 92, even if the Italian company does make them in the USA. I think the Army side arm contract is out for bid again now. There is no doubt that Beretta does make some fine guns--the PX Storm just isn't one of them, although I almost bought one, along with their 'Nano' model.

I use a 308 or at least a 223--556 for wild boar--they can get well over 500 pounds around here and I save my 45 for 'just in case' close up meetings--seen those 'bush hogs with tusks damn near 8 inches long...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hogzilla

That said--and I'm not a competition shooter, part of the fun we have out on the range is shooting different calibers. I find going  from a big cannon--say a 50 caliber Desert Eagle, down to a 40, back to a 45, I then can shoot a 9mm easiest and most accurately. As said, most guys around here shoot modified Glock 9mm's in competition.

I have a few Glocks. I also really like my Smith and Wesson M&P 40--(Military & Police)--they have done a great job with that gun series--especially for the price--plus I can swap out barrels and magazines & shoot different loads. I must have gotten the 'pick of the litter' with my Springfield 45, as even I can sometimes put 'holes in the holes' of target paper with it.

If I had to pick ONE pistol to take into the jungle for say, 3 months--it'd be the tried n true Glock 17 9mm. On purpose by testers, it's been repeatedly slammed into concrete, left in salt water for months--been retrieved from rivers after years--and they still always shoot. Don't try this at home, kids--but darn gun will even shoot UNDER water! Plus they take 32 round magazines! (Which also fit into my collapsible (foldable)  Kel-Tec Sub-2000 --but with the longer barrel to allow full powder burn, the 9mm moves like a 357 magnum in the Kel-Tec--talk about cheap thrills...

Gaston Glock never designed a gun in his life before he--against incredible competition, (HK, SIG, FN, Beretta, Browning, etc. )  won the Austrian Military's uber demanding contract w/ his first try--the Glock 17c. Among other demands, the Austrian competition insisted it be capable of disassembly w/o tools, be self loading--all kinds of demands, besides having to convince the world that a 'plastic pistol' could be durable. It's kind of an amazing story:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glock

No wonder 'Glock' rhymes with 'block' because the Glocks are about as sexy-attractive as 'blocks' of soap.
And back to sexy---Glocks will shoot almost any ammo--reloads, Russian, cheap off brand ammo--they're better than a fat chick on a date--they'll eat anything!

If you like guns--this a bit of fun: http://www.guns.com/2014/03/21/gunbroker-breaks-top-five-best-selling-guns-every-category/

Fosgate,

I think that overall, Filipinas are far more known for NOT having hot tempers than for having them. Even when upset, many of them retreat into a sad silence, sometimes in a form called tampo, where the guy isn't even quite sure of exactly what she's sad or quietly upset about.

Yes--you do look younger than your age in most of those photos. Did you by chance follow the TV series 'Breaking Bad"? There was an evil, baby faced villain in the last season, the character Todd Alquist. He played a meth cooking, organized crime 'exterminator' named Todd Alquist. The show's writers joked that his wholesome, but deceiving looks were akin to The Andy Griffith Show's Mayberry RFD's 'Opie' played by a young Ron Howard. Any relation?

Here's a scene where he indicates he doesn't like witnesses:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uTuSv3hgGA

Another where he's a bit demented:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ2apLo9aCA

Anyway, I hope you're not too much like that character, LOL  ;D

Loved that show. The guy looked a lot like one of my cousins who died in a car accident several years ago. Looking young runs pretty strong in my family. Here are two of my first cousins.

He just turned 53.

Mr. Fosgate,

With all due respect, you look every bit mid 40's in the last picture in the suit.  And I'm not buying your statement that the picture on the balcony was taken just a year ago.

Just be yourself...hopefully you're not trying to upsell yourself this way to the girls you are courting on the internet.  And certainly don't understand why you are doing it here. And especially don't get all of the gun pics.  Aren't there other forums for that purpose?

And I'm not buying your statement that the picture on the balcony was taken just a year ago.

The quality of photo isn't a year ago LOL

I don't care if you buy it or not. It was taken with an old Minolta 7000 SLR 35mm film camera (not that great of camera even back in the day). I bought it for my ex as part of a  present off of ebay 2yrs ago as she always had one the same on here shelf in her office she dubbed "Rex" as her first camera she got in college while going to school for journalism and mass communications. She was and is a professor at a University that has film developing and she also dabbled in it herself.

Far as the guns, I posted one in response to someone elses comment on carrying a ball bat for protection being illegal  and it went on from there. I apologize, I probably should have just pasted a link to the album instead for those who wanted to peak. I often forget that not everyone had firearm education and competition shoots in school growing up like I did and is taboo to see let alone talk about. I tried to get the topic back on track.

Now, are we done attacking my integrity so we can move on?

Well, I've never seen someone age so drastically in just a year's time.  I would have to see some head on shots from last year in order to compare.  As of now I'm not very convinced.  The picture on the balcony shows a man maybe 30 years old, while the one in the suit looks every bit early 40's at the youngest.   But then, maybe you've been on a diet of Krispy Kream donuts and big Macs, and maybe a little crystal meth thrown in.   Start taking care of yourself....no woman should have the power to destroy a man physically like she did you.

So you not only don't want to remain on topic, but you want to continue to imply I'm a liar and that I'm a meth user. Is that what I got out of the point of your comments correctly?

Hey, I'm not implying anything....just have never seen such a transformation in just a year's time is all.  Its very hard to believe, but if you insist, I guess I'll believe you.   You can get back on topic anytime you want, kind sir.

And again, please, start taking care of yourself...
