These comments are applicabe ONLY to the man who wants a formal relationship with a Colombian woman in Colombia
As Mickey has written owning your own home outright in Colombia is a way to stabilize the monthly budget.
And then there are the costs of furnishing the home and the monthly services....
So for a couple to live on 22,000 USD that first year, whether you buy a home or rent an unfurnished apartment...furnishing the place is a big NUT.
If the woman CAN bring SOME stuff with her.....potentially that saves dollars.
And right there looms a clash in cultures.
Now Im not talking about a young woman without kids, Im talking about a mature woman, who had a previous relationship and maybe with at least one kid.
BUT with very few exceptions.....and I can count them on ONE hand.... when I ve had the LETS ASSUME THAT WE WILL WANT TO LIVE TOGETHER conversation with woman, they expect the man to buy EVERYTHING and BUY IT NEW, because they see it as a new chapter in their lives and therefore, everything SHOULD be new.
I will NEVER expect a woman to bring her bed into a living relationship with me, it isnt right and clearly that s on me.....but if she had a decent TV in her bedroom or a decent dining room set and chairs and it was hers, could she possibly bring it into the relationship¨.
And the standard response is something like
Oh no, my ex bought me that. its MINE.
Or Im going to give that to MY sister.
And so we get to...whats MINE is MINE, but what you buy is OURS.
And Im going to post this also on Life on the Lam....
