Hey Igster, if you are going to keep the name Ignorante maybe you should change your avatar to this:

Ignorante,

I was looking at your avatar, you don't look like you are 5 foot 1.  You appear to be about 5 foot 10.  What beach is that in the avatar?

Back in my party dog days in NYC, I partied a couple times with Iggy Pop. He's at least 5'6 tall, maybe taller, at least standing up. And he was usually the last one standing--he was a total party animal! I know he was taller than Lou Reed, for sure.
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!

:D  6 feet.  I just like the song, and the name Iggy reminded me of it.  I think he probably is 5 foot one. :)

I do not remember the name of the beach, but it is near Charleston on Sullivan's Island, and the pic is almost a year old.  I added about 20 pounds of muscle since then (divorce lead me to start working out more and eating better - I was getting a little lazy when I was married :D ).

LOL!  Ok, so he is not Five Foot One.  Great song, though.

Robert, I think there must be a side of you that has never been revealed on this web site before to have been partying with Iggy Pop and Lou Reed.  :D

Speaking of Lou Reed, I bought his http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_and_Loss Magic and Loss album in the early 90s when it came out.  Great stuff.

Lou Reed was great--I guess he still is, I've just been out of that 'scene' for over two decades, but I was into CBGB's and all that back in the 'Velvet Underground Days' although the most of the Velvet Underground's and Reed's really good stuff (Waiting for my man, etc.) was done before CBGB's even opened. Greenwich Village and the Bowery were hellacious places musically and party wise and a friend of mines dad had an apartment building smack dab in the middle of Greenwich Village. It was prime time for decadence and debauchery.

Reed and Iggy were really different--Reed was always quiet and had a 'party within the party' whereas Iggy was all over the place--I am totally amazed that not only is Iggy alive and well, but he's still really intelligent, does occasional movies, TV appearances music etc.

I think David Bowie, who was quite a mess himself back in the day, saved Iggy from himself--financially and musically rescuing him. Despite drug addiction, Reed always gave the audience a great show, whereas back in the seventies and early eighties, you never knew what you were gonna get when you saw Iggy live.
