Newbie Plan
« on: July 30, 2006, 08:24:45 PM »
Plan A: newbie amigos, you have two choices – stop reading the forums.  Don’t worry about learning Spanish, hook up with a couple good agencies or a tour group like TLC and go to Colombia and have a ball.  If you are good looking then it will be a slam dunk.  If you meet someone that rocks your world, you two at first will stumble over the communication issue but eventually you will learn Spanish or likewise she will learn English.

Plan B: the other way to go is to become an expert on Colombia.  Learn Spanish.  See the good and bad and in all probability become a cynic.

Either plan can work – but if I had to do it all over again I would have stuck to Plan A.

But a nice girl can put a smile on your face. In my case, luckily I have met someone nice recently.  Whether she will be a long term keeper is hard to say

Cheers

Papi, I've read in some of your recent posts that you might be leaving Cali, why??  I think 6 or 7 months ago I told you that you would have success in Cali if you just spent a year or so there.  And now it seems you've met someone special.  I say stay there and ride this out...what do you say??

Papi,
Why don't you tell us about the new girl?  Any particular reason why she's a keeper?  I'm happy for you.

Monty, I'd rather keep this one private but I met her  at a popular place to go on Sunday's in Cali called the Tienda Vieja. She is 24

Papi,
Wish you the best of luck and hope you stick around and give it a 100% effort.  Let me know when the wedding date is too:D

wedding...LOL! Talk to Soltero, he's happy that I admitted not long ago to never wanting to marry. Actually, that is really not the case. I just happen to be a tad high maintenance...again according to Soltero...LOL. I did pull the trigger on a K1 to a paisa 2 years ago but she jumped ship.  Right now, I  more importantly need to decide if I want to continue teaching which I like doing or go back to the USA and get a real job

If you have to get a real job, then responsibilities call, but if it's not a must-do-or-die situation, then why bother?:D

You said you did a K-1 about 2 years ago and she jumped ship.  I wasn't around then, did she jump ship in the US or down south?  Ant particular reason why?  Just curious.

I had already submitted the paperwork and went to see her.  She basically was a no show and returned the ring, etc., to my hotel.  A week later she wrote me that she went back to her old Colombian boyfriend.  She was 26…and we dated on and off for about a year and traveled to CTG and San Andres. Colombian men aren’t the only ones who are unfaithful

Papi,

You said you are a high maintenance guy. What does that mean? Do you have the qualities to be high maintenance? I'm not talking in Colombia, I mean once you get her here if you ever decide to..
