Thanks KFC...Good news, for sure.  I'm using a Skype computer to computer/phone for free right now.  But I welcome other options.  There is some echo and noise from time to time from Skype but nothing ATT didn't do to us for years.  Plus scheduling is a consideration, we don't have cell phone convience but no complaints. Free is free.   
 
And thanks Skype --- truly the FIRST time technology has saved me a buck.

Go with zero 11 wireless my friend.  For me its the best option because it will allow you to talk on the phone with your lady for hours as if she lived in the same city with you.  This phone plan is responsible for the closeness I have with my fiance.  A closeness I have not experienced chatting with another.  We know each other so well its incredible.  Here is the deal. zero 11 is about $80 a month with that you get unlimited calling here in America plus 5hours a day talking in the phils.  Five hours is like 300 minutes a day.  within that 5 hours you can talk as much as you want for as long as you want and call as many times as you want.  It used to have free text as well but they cut that so I just put the phone number in yahoo messenger and its still free for me to text her.  We used to talk aobut 3 or 4 hours a day so I ended up getting two plan for a whopping 10 hours but we dont talk that much like that anymore since i decided to regulate it.  But for the average person 5 hours is probably more than enough. I think its something like zero11wireless.com. before i was paying like 60 a month with boost mobile , but for just an extra 20 bucks i can get unlimied calls and text in america just like boost and I can talk to my honey for up to 5 hours a day for a month. so check it out.  Unlike vonage u dont have to buy some kind a phone to hook to ur computer.  zero 11 will send u a sim card in the mail in like 3 days.  You can either buy a zero 11 phone because u need a phone where yo u can insert any sim card.  Or you can go to one of these little cell phone shops and they will sell you and unregistered sim phone or they can modify ur phone to take any sim card and its really cheap like10 or 15 bucks

The best plan for my wife is FB video calling & Skype video chat - both free. She spend hours talking to her family back in the PI & to her nothing beats face-to-face chatting. We also have a Magic Jack (sent to the PI) - $19.95 a year unlimited . We also have a magicJack Plus but have yet to use/activate it.

Skype is great for Skype to Skype, but even for Skype to land-line they have pretty good rates.  Most land-line providers will have better land-line to international land-line rates, but if you're out and about, Skype beats cell carrier rates for international calls.
