Yesterday I was behind a man in line at the hardware store.  He looked to be in his 60's.  I didn't hear what the counter lady said to him, but he responded that xmas isn't a happy day for him.  It seems that his wife died on Christmas day last year.  He also said his kids were scattered through-out the world.  His situation made me forget my petty problems and to be thankful for my little family and all the love they have given me for almost 9 years.

I tried to catch up to the man outside of the store...I was going to encourage him to start a new life....he had already left the parking lot...

On a side note, I stopped by Aeropostale on my way home yesterday - I had a 50% off coupon that was about to expire - someone gave it to me. The place was packed & people were fighting over the $5 Graphic T-shirts & the 75% off stuff.  ::)
Well I did manage to get 10 x-small & small ladies t-shirts for $20.

I though that I was done shopping but the deals & coupons keep coming.
I just got $150 worth of VS t-shirts & slippers for free via VS Secret Santa.

For those who do not know what the VS Secret Santa is - let me explain.
During the month of November, if you made a purchase of $10+ at any Victoria Secret Store - they gave you a mystery card - that gift card have a value of anywhere between $10 - $500. You make the purchase in November & get the value in December (Dec 1st - 24th), They "activate" the cards on December 1st because they do not want store employees to check them ahead of time/know the values  & thus giving the high values one to their family & friends. No one know the value until Dec 1st.
I made 2 different $10 purchases in Nov & my combine values was $150: $100 + $50. Plus I didn't even have to pay taxes, my entire purchase was free.

Be on the lookout - VS also do something similar for VS card holders & registered users.

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year (and for Honey and I on the 1st - Happy 9th Anniversary).  I think we are going to avoid "the crowd" this year and spend the night at a romantic place with great atmosphere, accommodations, clubs, restruants to visit on a Riverwalk setting up in The Woodlands.

Now will the babysitters please step foreward!
