AOS interview
« on: December 09, 2008, 01:02:50 PM »
We had our AOS interview back in April of this year and the case worker said our file was incomplete and I needed to send them my W4 for 2007 which the never said I needed as I had already given them twice before. We still not have heard from them as of yet. I did call the general telephone number and the gave the case number from which they would call or e mail with regards to what is the hold up? This was done at the Chula Vista office. Anybody knows if this is normal or what can I do to find out what the hold up is?

you need to give me a few more facts. Be a little more detailed in what you did. This is the San Diego District, which takes forever.

Went to the Chula Vista office brought the letter to appear then waited for them to call us in the asked us some question then he asked for a W4 which I thought I had one, but didn't. He then said I needed to send one to that office then I would receive I letter that had to sent in by a certain date when I receive the letter. But I have not heard from them since?

I made an appointment for the 15th of Dec at 10:00 am. Is this normal for the Chula Vista office to make decisions on a AOS case? The RFE he gave me verbally with no follow up notice later seems odd for my W4.

Hope the InfoPass appointment goes well.

One thing I have found with the USCIS is that it does not matter if you have sent them a dozen copies of the same document. If they ask for it you need to send it again. They have more copies of our documentation that we have so don't worry about it just give them what they want regardless of it being a redundant redundancy.

This is the government. Making sense does not apply.

I would expect them to enter the letter the same day as the interview. If he didnt, then he probably forgot it.

The department of redundancy department might ask you to file a compliance letter (in triplicate) attesting to compliance with the National Paperwork Reduction Act. If so, do so.

I did receive a letter from USCIS stating: The processing of your case has been delayed and is not ready for decision, as the required investigation into your background remains open? So until this is complete they cannot go forward on the N 400 case. So how long will this take? Does anybody know?
