However looks are not everything, I would rather have a lady that just looks OK but is a very good person inside, than have a lady that is super hot but her heart is as cold as ice.

Hey piglet,

I think you are on the right track...

Heruamen,

I am pretty sure now she is not scamming me. I will be getting pics and video of her this week form the PI. I really just wanted to make sure she was using the money for what I told her to use it on.

I haven't heard from her in  a couple of days and I would guess a scammer would be all over a kano who just sent them money and promised more when needed. Her lack of contact lends me to believe she is too busy to get to an internet cafe. I just can't imagine a scammer not going for more money, so yeah, I think she is legit.

Angeles and Subic are where bars are, also some places around Manila. The bar girls are prostitutes. They don't consider themselves as such but they are. The average age of a bar girl is 19, when they get past 20 they usually lose there job as most of the men who frequent those joints are looking for young girls. So if you meet a girl over 20 working there doing anything outside of a bar there is a pretty good chance she is a former bar girl. I feel sorry for them as most are bought in the provinces from their parents who owe debts to the mafia or whatever they call it over there.

If you can find a girl who just started to work and she hasn't adjusted to the life yet she might be OK but the other girls put huge pressure on the cherry girls to lose it so they can make money. It is awful how they will push the cherry girl on a guy they think will be able to charm her pants off.

Basically stay away form the bar girls.

I dated mostly waitresses and store girls but I will admit I went out with a bar girl every now and then. I always bought them clothes and shampoo and toothpaste on a date, they just thought that was the greatest. They never had enough money to buy heigene products.

Cbear,

There is no mafia in the Philippines running a sex-slave business and “buying” young girls in the provinces to be forced to work in bars. Most of the province girls leaving to work in the bars were probably recruited by relatives or friends who went before them. They are free to leave the job and return home at any time.

Bar girls are people just like anyone else. For the most part, they enjoy the lifestyle and they willingly left home to earn money and experience the “adventure”. The girls under 18 lied about their age to get work. I’ve known many bar girls who were in their twenties and a few even older.

They aren’t all bad people, just mostly poor girls who had very few options to support themselves and help their families. They didn’t need any special education or experience or even talent to get the job. If they were young and good looking, they could get hired easily. Most work for commission on drinks, barfines, and tips and will go out with a customer they like. They aren’t like your typical street-walking crack-whores that you find here in America. Some bar girls and ex-bar girls are the most honest and trustworthy folks you could ever meet.

I wouldn’t recommend that anyone search for a Filipina wife in the bars, but I try not to judge the girls or the men that marry them.

Ray

Hey Ray,

We have a friend who is a former GRO from the 80's. She is now in her late 40's but sometimes dresses like she is back in the 80's.  ::) You gotta love her for her great personality, heart of gold, kindness, laughter and cooking!  ;D

Remember the time that Jay decided to be his own PI and check up on his wife? He was walking along the street in Angeles looking trough a pair of binoculars and fell head first into a hole filled with water and feces!  He said his head was stuck in the muck at the bottom before he pulled himself free. ;D Somehow, $400 seems like a bargain!  ;D

I've lived in Subic for six months now.  I met my first GF in a bar and she was a terrific person.  We've been broken up for six weeks because she had too many family needs and I had offered to do too much.

There are many of my friends in relationships and most of them met their GFs/wives in bars.  They appear to be happy.  For whatever disadvantages people would claim they are generally good in bed, a trait not shared by the entire female population.  Plus you'll know that after the first date.

I expect to find my next GF in a bar.  Why not?  I'm retired and I really enjoy spending time with these women.  When you live here, there is no reason to play dating games like I did in the US.

Just my humble opinion.

Bargirl or not, many Filipinas are mature for their age, however 18-24 still seemingly have the most play.  They have the most problems and the most bagage.   At age 25 they begin to grow out of that.  TO be on the safe side....go by the age of a woman.

Wow so many great posts, and great information. I really appreciate all the knowledge.   Although I have no intention of looking for a bargirl, I've often wonderd how people could judge all of them based on their experiences with a few. It's refreshing to see that some men discovered women with great inner qualities despite the outer facade of her being a bargirl.   Also I will check out Filipinaheart, though right now I'm busy with Cherry Blossoms since I logged on to for the first time a few days ago.

I disagree strongly with anyone that would recommend hunting bar girls. Most of them are psychologically damaged.

Contrary to the assertion that they have a choice in the matter-they don't. Usually placed into the bars by family members, these low educated individuals are required to generate a required amount of monthly income to the bar. If not, its hasta la vista. As far as choices go, they get no choice-customer wants, customer gets. If not, hasta la vista. Get fired-you go to a lower bar with more depravity and less choices.

They get used to making money on their backs and there is no way out for them. Can be a Mistress but not a wife in their own culture. Have to find a sucker from abroad who will ignore their round heels because the taint never really leaves them in their own country. Wealth with an asterisk and always snubbed by those who are not of their profession. Unless they can escape, hide their past and lie their way up the social ladder. Many that I have seen become GCG, infidelity seems common.

Of course, I can only speak of Thailand. Perhaps those angelic girls of Olongapo are somehow different but I doubt it.

Courting a bar giirl is the height of folly

Hey William,

Definetly not my cup of tea either! I have a friend who has been dating strippers in the US for over 30 years. All he has to show for it is a free room in his mother's house, despite the fact that he earns a respectable income.

In the Philippines, they are not forced to work in bars by family members, but many parents seem to support their daughter's decision. Years ago I think many ladies went to work in the bars to help their families. Most of the ones that work there today seem to be more interested in buying themselves the latest cellphones and fashions and helping their families second.

I think that most of these ladies are the same world-wide. Most lie even when there is no reason to. Many get tired of men and become lesbians. In the Philippines many bargirls have a 'Tomboy' (butch) for a 'boyfriend.'

Hey William,

My friend has a PHD in Lap Dancing! He once bragged to me how well he "danced"  strippers. I corrected him and said "danced with" strippers. He said no, "danced" meaning he was having lap dances. Numerous strippers told him that he was the BEST!  I asked how he knew, since all he did was sit in a chair and couldn't touch them with his hands or mouth. He said that he concentrated and made them have orgasms with his brain...just as his money ran out and the song ended.   He is a champagne room VIP!

I have knowledge of a medical technologist and a doctor in the Philippines who were both working in a 'health club' giving massages and turning tricks on the side. To operate a cash register in the Philippines often requires at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, some require a CPA. Nurses are often nanies. Many professionals go overseas to work as nannies and house keepers. Doctors become nurses so they can work in the US. In the past, captains and officers in the Philippine Navy often joined the US Navy and worked as stewards for better pay and the opportunity to become US citizens. So I doubt that a lady could become a bargirl with only a 4th grade education!  ;D

What I've found out is that many of the "bargirls" become bargirls to find Foreign Boyfriends and husbands.  Let's face the truth.  Many of the men go straight from the Airport to the bar.

Normally the girls that turn 25 are too old for the bar and end up in the squatter's area servicing Filipino men.  I knew a Seargent in the Marines who married a Bargirl back in the day.  Relocated her back to the US and was stationed in San Diego.  Well, while he was on deploy for about 5 weeks, she turned tricks on the base.  After all, it was the only skill she had.  She had no other education.  They got divorced and she ended up back in the Philippines.  However, by this time she had gain weight and was no good for any of the bars.

In Short, just try Manila, Cebu, or some of the other Provences.  Stay away from Angeles City.

Hey William,

"COULD HE DO ALL THAT WITHOUT HIS TINFOIL HAT?!?!?!?!?! :oWOW "

I think he is too far gone at this point to live without it!. Over the years he has known some very nice women, but wasn't secure in relationships that weren't based on money...never leaving things to chance.
