Universities in USA
« on: August 16, 2008, 09:30:30 AM »
Not long ago, I wanted to take Fashion Business degree via online.  I do not want to have to attend classes for many reasons.  I already have business to run.

I looked at British Universities, but there is only one online degree.  It is BA in Fashion Marketing & Promotion.  There is another degree in the same universities called 'BA in Fashion Buying & Merchandising' which is the course I wanted to learn, but this course is not done online, unfortunately.

I looked at online degree from USA.  Good news - there are so many courses available which suits my needs.   Bad News - they costs 3-4 times more expensive than British Universities.     UK Universites costs about £3,000  (about $6,000) per year compare to $20 - $25,000 in USA.

Is it true that USA universities costs around $20 - $25,000 per year?

I have no choice but to learn myself from books.

Yes, they really cost that much, even more for some of the prestigious ones. But for that price we're talking a real 'brick and mortar' campus and really attending classes in person and living in on campus in a dormitory. I would be very leery of paying out that amount of money to an 'on line' school, particularly if the school is only on line (vs. the on line branch of a 'real' school). Do your homework well before committing your money, there are many dishonest schools here in the US that skirt the very edges of the law and cheat their customers.

I wish British 'online' universities has much choice of courses like the USA Universities.   At least USA Universities gave out list of course contents and books to recommend.   UK Universities do not.   I already have lists of books (thanks to USA Universities) so I am able to buy them to save $$$$$$$
