Well....for me it was "can we do it", not "should we do it". Some people, no matter what race or nationality, help out their family when they can....and enjoy doing it at the same time. It's kinda hard to say "I love you and I'm here for you...but I don't love you enough to help you when I can".
I'm not talking about helping lazy people or people who want to take advantage of you (or your wife)...but people I love, people she loves......family, who's not as financially well off as we are. We both hold the same values....if we can help someone who honestly needs it, we will be more than happy to do it. The way we see it....The Lord has blessed us enough to be able to help other people. Thats a good feeling to have. We know that all we have is not ours to begin with...but its put in our care and supervision. Hopefully within the next 3 or 4 years or so, we will be able to buy her mother a house of her own (The Lord willing.)
I'd say if she's financially able to help her family, she will want to no matter where she lives or who she's married to. The key word being..."if". I mean...who wouldn't want to help out their loved ones if they could? I guess it boils down to how someone looks at money and possessions.
I'm an good son-in-law who has been blessed with the world's greatest mother-in-law and in-laws.
