Maybe send an offline to TheKFC here and ask. He's real busy lately with work, wife and baby, but if anyone here knows, it's him.
Kind of twisted in a way, but if 'You are what you drive' in the USA--- 'You are what phone you carry' in the Philippines. Hardly anyone owns cars there, but phones are huge status symbols instead. They have a huge variety, including phones there we never see here--their Samsung Galaxy S3 runs a quad core processor, our GS3 a dual core for example.
For some reason, Blackberrys are still 'cool' there and Apple carries a lot of clout. I have heard of guys bringing suitcases of iPhones to Asia for easy resale and tripling their investment assuming they slide by customs.
Not sure about the Droid, but I wanted the Droid Maxx HD real bad. Google now owns Motorola and they rock, but cater more to the male market, with their typically black, solidly built, Kevlar backed phones--they have superior antenae recption and other good stuff. I had to get the Samsung Galaxy S3, as Verizon was phasing out the unlimited data plan just days after it was released and I got 'grandfathered' in.
I hear the more expensive 'International Quad Core' Galaxy S3 is quite a piece of technology and lately Filipinos are big about almost everything Korean.
Make sure you know if you need a GSM or CDMA phone....
