I think Capstone lives in Alabama, but I'm not completely sure.Just wanted to start a thread to ask if you are OK since the tornadoes ripped through the state.

Yes, I do live in Alabama and last Wednesday was the worst tornado outbreak that I have ever experienced - they say that we had 66 tornadoes touch down in the state that day. I was very lucky in that my area did not experience a lot of damage other than not having electricity for about 8 hours. I had a tornado touch down about 1 mile south of my house and another about 2 miles north but luckily they did not do too much property damage other than downed power/telephone lines and trees.

My good friend's parents who live in Tuscaloosa were not so lucky though as their home took a direct hit and was totally destroyed. Luckily they were not home at the time and were unharmed. I went to Tuscaloosa with my friend this past Saturday to help his parents try and salvage some things from the wreckage and the destruction there is unbelievable,  it looks like his parent's neighborhood has been bombed out - the devastation looks much worse in person than it does on the news.

Good to hear you are OK. I remember the devastation in 1974.Even though I was still a kid it made quite an impression on me how powerful these storms can be.Although I have seen many tornadoes up close I haven't seen that kind of widespread damage since then.
