barry Bonds guilty...........on obstruction of justice.
« on: April 14, 2011, 09:51:21 AM »
He was not found guilty for taking or lying about taking steroids but for giving an evasive answer under oath more than seven years ago.

Instead of giving a "yes" or "no" to whether he received drugs that required a syringe, Bonds response to a grand jury, was: "I became a celebrity child with a famous father."

If we were all forced to wear a warning label, what would yours say?

Making steroids illegal is a stupid law, anyway.  It was made illegal in 1990, over the objection of the AMA.  There really is not a good reason to have laws that protect people from themselves.

I don't think steroids should be illegal for the general public.  For athletes I think the leagues should decide what they want to do.  I like that steroids are a banned substance in many leagues.  I don't think young people should be forced to take these drugs or be at a competitive disadvantage.

It was pretty good punishment for barry when his long time mistress got up and testified on the federal stand, testifying that  he was indeed using steroids and that as a result, not only was he not able to 'get it up' anymore, but that certain body parts had actually gotten much smaller. Ouch!
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!

Leagues banning it is fine with me, but felony convictions (loss of right to vote, loss of right to bear arms, and other rights for life) and imprisonment for this is just wrong.  He did not hurt anybody else by doing steroids.  Save prison for robbers, murderers, fraudsters, rapists, and the like.

I agree.....I never got why the ministers of justice send people to prison for hurting themselves. People who hurt other people (people like ignorante mentioned) is a different matter all together, these people should be separated from society and given the chance to repent.
So let mercy come and wash away, what I've done
