I still get about a half dozen of those in my junk mail folder each week, with an occasional one getting routed to my regular in-box.  The last one was:
"Good Day,
I am Peter Wong in Hong Kong. Please
I would like you to assist me in a business
project worth Fourty Four Million Five Hundred
Thousand Dollars.
You will have 50% of the total Funds as your share.
If you are interested to know more details contact me
back at my private email: {peter955wong@yahoo.com.hk}
I will be waiting to hear from you.
Best Regards,
Mr. Peter T.S Wong"

Plus there are the now frequent notices of "Your Account is Temporarily Disabled" or "An Important Announcement from..." purportedly from major financial institutes, most of which I don't have active accounts with.  Their English is getting better and they are starting to include real-looking logos.  Whoever in Russia or China is sending these is starting to do their homework.

I always seem to have relatives who are quite good at amassing a large sum of cash in businesses of questionable morality, smuggling diamonds, drug money laundering, stuff like that. Anyway, despite their acumen at making money, they all seem to be less than skilled drivers and somehow manage to get themselves killed in car accidents. After their tragic demise, some kind soul is always willing to help me repatriate the money.....this kind soul just needs a little flash up front to grease the palms of a few officials. You know, to make sure the proper stamps and seals are placed on all the documents.

this poor dear wants me to take her money and set up a charity.  Golly gee, I'd love to, but I just don't have the time to run a charity right now.

I wish to make a donation to you of 4.8 Million Euros. As my doctor just confirmed to me that I have limited days to live due to the cancerous problems I am suffering
from. I have decided to donate this fund to you and want you to use this gift which comes from my late husband's effort to open a charity organization. If you can assure
me of being able to handle my offer please get back to me for more details by emailing me on my private email address: senoraclarisia@xbmail.com
Sincerely Yours,

Senora Clarisia Antonio.

Sorry to hear the poor dear's days are limited... Still can't figure out why I keep getting her letter year, after year, after year...  :-\

In better news... I WON THE UK LOTTERY FOR $45 Million (usd)!!   ;D  But wait! There's more!!
Shortly after that, I won a new Ferrari!!  ;D  Naturally, they both needed the appropriate fees for processing and such, so I made a deal- I sent the Ferrari drawing judges the name and address of my representative with the UK Lottery, with specific instructions for each of them to handle the fees from my winnings. My lottery agent can keep his 12%, then they can ship the Ferrari to me and send me the certified check for the rest of my lottery winnings!   :D  I've got it all covered!!  <does happy dance!>

Come to think of it... that was quite some time ago.   :-\  I sure hope those two aren't out driving the Autobahn's in my Ferrari.   :(
Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

Hey Bob, I think I received the same one. Is she writing you from a hospital bed?

I received my first 419 scam letter in 1977 - hand written and snail mailed with a stamp.
