Kfc, you should try to get a copy of your baptism certificate, if at all possible, to avoid last minute surprises. You should also have a copy of your confirmation certificate.

But her family knowing the priest who will do the ceremony definitely helps. You are “supposed” to have a recent copy of the baptismal certificate from the church where you were baptized, but an old copy will probably suffice.
I explained to them again that I do not have a copy of my baptism/confirmation certificate  & will not be able to get one (in time).
The sister told me she knows (she remember that I mention it before) & she have already spoken to the priest about that. She also have an appointment schedule for us with the priest on the day after I arrive.
If we were all forced to wear a warning label, what would yours say?

Kfc,

I'm sure you've seen videos and pics from over there, where guys actually let others crucify them, long nails, blood, crosses and all. If push comes to shove, you can always show your faith by volunteering! :D
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!

Good job piggy!!  Never lost your temper, very nice!!
Yes, he did.  Piglett stayed cool, calm, and collected.  And fortunately, he seems to have picked a good girl who followed his lead on this and calmed her tampo.  But what if she didn't?  What if instead she stayed cold and punitive?  He would have been in deep doo-doo.  Now that he's Catholic, he should say a rosary of thanks in appreciation of the good Lord leading him to a good girl.  This could have gone very bad.

Which is why we say again and again not to rush into a marriage on your first trip to meet your girl.  A million hours of video chat does not substitute for real face time when it comes to getting to know someone.  The rule of thumb of "do not fall in love with a photo" applies to video images as well.  See how each other reacts in good and bad situations, see how they interact with and treat others.  This will be your life for the next 50 years (if you're lucky!), so learn about each other as much as possible and decide if it's something you're good with before you get married (and especially before you get her preggers!).
...a wife should be always a reasonable and agreeable companion, because she cannot always be young.

Dave H, I would do the Barong but not the kilt.

What will happen if during the ceremony a big gust of wind comes in and blow the kilt up.   ;D
We saw that happened to a guy walking down the street here in NYC  & he wasn't wearing any underwear  :o  ::)

A New Yorker is in London, near Soho, walking down the street. Coming toward him on the sidewalk is a fetching young lass with a short frilly skirt. As she gets about 20 feet away, the wind catches the frills and blows it straight up, revealing that the young lady is wearing only what God gave her under that skirt. The New Yorker certainly got his eyeballs filled and when he looked up, she was looking him straight in the face. Flustered, and feeling somewhat embarrassed for her, he thought he would try to smooth the tension, saying to her "Airy, isn't it?", to which she replied, "Wha'd you expect? Feathers??"  :o ;D :D
