Air Fares keep going up for summer travel

  Wow kfc I am so happy for you. You are trying to go back there in June/July. I will be there in Manila during that time as well. Perhaps we can meet up and go enjoy the crystal  palace in Angeles city heehhehe just kidding You will soon be a married man.  I can even feel your excitement and enthusiasm in you written words.  When I go back I plan to fly Japan airlines.  I decided when I took my first trip that any where i wanted to fly I would try to use Japan airlines. I was just so impressed when flying with them.  Keep searching for that lowest airfare.  I was about to go to japan airlines website and try to book a flight myself.

I did fly JAL once & do love their service. I actually didn't book on JAL,  it was on another airline & our connecting flight to NYC was canceled to they were putting the passengers on one of the Oneworld partners - I got to enjoy JAL premium economy seat.
I did check JAL prices for travel from NYC on my specific date but the fares were  too rich for me.

My situation right now is:
I just got a line of credit (CC) from AAdvantage (American Airlines) to travel but can only book on AA (to travel on them or a partner airline). The terms I got are good including no interest for a year.

Pay out of my pocket (giving me less spending power for my honeymoon) & book thru Cathay Pacific & get 100% Mile points - thus giving me enough combined Asia Miles for a free trip (NYC/Manila) to use at a later date - for when Ahya will be come over or maybe x-mas/holiday travel.

Use the AA line of credit (giving me more pocket spending power) & book thru American Airlines for a partner travel (on Cathay - they are the cheapest) BUT I get NO Asia Miles point & the fare is also $100 more than what is posted on Cathay's website. I think I do get AA miles - I currently only have 1,000 AA miles.

I just don't know. The words honor and trust are not words I frequently see linked to craigslist. You know what mama said about if it sounds too good to be true....
I heard that transfer of tickets from one name to another is a no no since 9/11, but I have no idea if there are restrictions on travel points awarded as well. If it's a good deal, I wonder why the guy can't unload them on family and friends?
Jm mentions a husband and wife who do it--but they have the same last name and credit cards, probably.

ya i think i'll pass on taking that 1/2 price ticket.
i just have a bad feeling about it .
if it sounds 2 good to be true it probably is i guess..

My tickets are averaging about 1300 apiece for my current 3 trips a year. But then- I am using mileage to upgrade to business class which requires a higher fare purchase. I still have 110K on Cathay and 180K on United. At least I get something back for all of the flights over the years.
