chnlove.com - a fraudulent website
« on: January 01, 2009, 05:24:08 PM »
This website is a fraudulent operation. You can check some of the more recent responses of actual users at:

w w w. pfishy. com/site/chnlove.com

From personal experience, this company hires "translators" to pose as ladies whose photos are posted on their site, but may or may not even be single. Ultimately, their "success stories" are older women who are not those presented on the site (check out their own MODERATED "forum").

The scam is that they try to "hook you" into ongoing communications with a writer. Based on  documented cases, if/when you eventually arrive in China, they will do the old "bait-and-switch". Hi, the lady is unavailable, would you like to meet another? In one case, a reviewer reported that the person in the photo was eventually found and paraded to the office and she seemed "confused" by who the 'guest' was. You could be writing /speaking endlessly to someone else.

Some recommendations: 1. DON'T spend a penny on this website. 2. Be on the look-out for Trolls on the internet extolling the vitures of chnlove.com. 3. Report your experience to the HK authorities and/or get a refund from PayPal in 45 days (WorldPay is useless). 4. Be aware that there may be some (old) retirees who DID find matches through chnlove. [read this last point carefully].

And most importantly, let any unsuspecting "affiliate" websites know that chnlove.com is a scam, lest they become complicit in the fraud that is going on here.

Hi j, welcome to the forum.

It's customary for new members to introduce themselves. Could you tell us a little about yourself?

About all we know of you is that you dislike chnlove, but for all we know you could be a business competitor out to destroy the competition.  ;D

After a quick look through the "reviews" from the link provided there are multiple posts by users with remarkably similar IDs to the OP here.

With only two posts here and both being identical I'm leaning towards an under the bridge dweller being present. We'll see if this bears out.

I have had about a dozen or so fiancee clients come out of that site, so it cant be all bad. Besides most of these agencies have little in the way of traditional morales or ethics. Hell- the behavior is what the russian agencies have done for years.

Beware of trolls trashing the agency because tehy may well work for one of their scumbag competitors. . .

So- fitz are you also fitzpatrick or would you like to be fitgerald?

I don't have any experience with this site so I couldn't offer an opinion as to whether its legitimate.  I am generally suspicious about international dating/marriage sites. My overall experience has been poor.  After joining two different international sites and having multiple contacts....after several conversations, these prospective ladies tell you how much they love you and all hit you up for money.  The other thing that cracks me up is how poor their English is during your first few conversations, but as soon as the conversation turns to getting a visa and the costs involved, their English is as good as yours.  I visualize all these prospective brides in a room together on a prompter reading a script.  Just my opinion.

Hondo,
I met my wife on Blossoms.com.  There are plenty of scammers out there, but look at it as a numbers game.  I encountered what looked like scams.  I also ran into trashy sluts.  But I also met two very nice Chinese ladies, one of whom I married.  Be persistent.  It's  a lot like fishing.  You don't get keeper every time.

I tried Chnlove.com last year when I started this journey. I found the experience to be pleasant at first and met some nice ladies.  However, most times when I attempted to bypass the translation service and make direct contact, I hit a red light. In defense of Chnlove, they do rely on agencies all over China to post the listings and provide translation. It's the same with most sites. Search for Marshall's "Old Cow" posts for more details.  I did meet a few really nice ladies there who were more than happy to contact me directly, but I was not interested into the "go-getter" biz woman types (mostly from Hong Kong). I'm a pretty simple guy.

I met my fiancee on Blossoms like Marshall.  You will see lots of agencies there also, and probably more because it is free to send messages. I used to get about 50 a day. Ugh. I was actually in the process of closing my account there when I got the message that changed my life.
