Colombian Cupid, wow, what a bust for me!

Luckily bought only a month long membership.  I sent emails to 15 ladies I picked in Bogota, all from 30-37 years old and in 3 days have not gotten one single response!  Sheesh!  I am tall and not overweight, not bad looking photos etc.. I am a pretty young looking 51. 
At LAI in Bogota, had no problem with ladies in their 30's wanting to meet me, but on this Colombian Cupid, forget it!  Seems the ladies on the internet site only want guys hardly more than 5 years older than they are, much different from the agency girls.. Oh well, $25 is a cheap lesson.. But still frustrating..

problem with colombian cuipd is, their are too many picky girls, girls who post their age and lie about it, use fake photos, gee, sounds like every other online dating site jajajaja, it was better before, maybe a year ago, but now, its full of guys hitting on every girl over a 6, and from thei girls i know from there, a lot of guys are only looking for sex, internet sex ect and are just plain rude,  so the normal ones turn off their profile quite quickly,

their is a new site coming up in a few months that is similar to colombian cupid, that is going to permote " in country" marketing, not  "spaming " to get members, going to areas of the cities where gringos dont go, and where girls are not used to marriage agencies ect, so we will see how it does.

I agree with Papi 100 % on this one.. As I have mentioned to you , I chatted in the chat room at LAC a lot which is how I met my Novia.. I also used the instant messenger a lot also.. I may have met her through IM first or chat first ? I forget.. jajajajaja

I think you are very impatient when you are disappointed with lack of responses after 3 days..Give me a break.. Girls don't check their emails that often and when they do it takes time for them to respond..

You are looking for a thin girl that you are attracted too and is educated. You also want one that is not a visa shark , well finding a good girl that might be interested in you and is just not hunting for a foreign guy takes a lot of time and patience..

Your alternative is to go back to Russia where you said you can't stand the beautiful , thin looking , scamming , cold hearted women and will turn their back on you in a minute and forget you just as fast..

Well all I can say is good things about LatinAmericanCupid. I started on the site on Boxing Day here in Canada. Talked to a few women and found the woman that I married two weeks after joining the site. I picked a larger area than you. Columbia, Costa Rica, Peru and Brazil. Every night I would PM one or two that I wanted to talk to.  And had a MSM list of over 20 women. adding some removing others that had bad problems that I did not want to deal with. It was a big headache but the only way to meet a large amount of women.

In the end I picked a city in Brazil that I worked in 5 years ago and found my wife. Yes she comes from a family with out a lot of money but not as bad as some in Brazil. I guess you would say they are average.

She has never asked me for anything except my love. But  I did start sending her some money to pay for her English lessons and internet after we met for the first time.

This whole internet dating thing is all trial and error. Find what works best for you, but know it will take some time. I was on line for 3 or 4 hours a night searching for the woman of my dreams.

Latinlovesearch.com is a free site, but doesn't have the traffic of LAC.  It tends toward Peru.

And a Photo is a must.  The Gold membership lets you pick the country and city they are living in when you do a search. Age weight etc..  That is how I found my wife. Searching in a city that I knew 5 years before hand.
There are quite a few women on the site that lie about what country they are in.  I found quite a few that were listed under Columbia but live in the Dominican Republic. So if they have anything that is not truthful on the website. Move on and look for another one .

Colombian Cupid worked fine for me. 

In the end, however, once I touched ground I realized that it hardly mattered.  Go to the agencies for help setting dates if you have little time.  Otherwise, you can meet women very very very easy at the best fitness centers in the area.  In these cases it is easier to determine mutual chemistry too.

I have written and have had "nice" correspondence with many girls and ladies on several of Cupid media's sites.  I don't think it is a problem. As in life, you need a little luck. 

I will note that I never have had anything that came close to a serious connection that rose out of emails with a Latin American Woman.  NEVER.  That did NOT mean there was not serious interest.  It just should be noted that there is an absence of "magic".

(For those from Russian Women Discussion NOTE:  Eastern European and Russian ladies can steel your heart with letters alone.  They are SMART and apply great energy in communication.  Latin girls are different - you have to meet them in person)

Thanks for the rather abrupt post Jeff..  I'm really surprised.  Just because I don't like fat girls, I need to go to Asia to find a girl?  I think there are at least a few slender women in Colombia..  I already explained that I found Russian women more attractive physically (because that is where I had spent my time!), but I am more attracted to latin ladies characters and I am having to readjust what I am "attracted" to physically.  I am surprised at the unfriendliness of your post.  Sorry I could only find 15 Ladies that met my criteria of age, education etc., in the immediate Bogota area.  I will try harder for you..  Please don't condescend to me on this type of dating Jeff.  I have been to Russia/Ukraine numerous times in this endeavor.  You have been to South America exactly once.

Don't be so sensitive and take things to heart so much.. Regarding my comments and suggestions which I made about 4 days the main thrust of my points was that you were complaining after 3 days that you had no luck with your email campaign.. That is a total lack of patience..You must admit that..

My last post was not unfriendly and was meant to try to help you.. I would not waste my time typing a post unless I was trying to help.. Give me a break.. why would someone encourage you a lot and then you think you are being attacked ? Don't take things the wrong way..

I was trying to encourage you along with giving you a little wake up call.. I am not going to write or say something that guys just want to hear.

Every guy I know that has been successful at finding someone online has spent hundreds if not thousands of hours finding and getting to know women to find that one special woman.. As Canadianguy mentioned to you he spent about 3-4 hours a night for about 60 days to find and get to know his wife before his first trip.. That is about 240 hours..

I have spent much much more hours finding and getting to know my future wife from latinamericancupid.com .. I was shaking my head after your 3 days comment.. Woman are not always waiting to be at our beck and call and to answer our messages and emails..

Actually the women who were not in such a rush to start emailing , chatting and getting to know me were some of the best woman I met.. They were not desperate and I liked that..

I see that finding someone online is not for you.. That is cool and you are having luck through the agency intros..

I would suggest though that when you do find the woman that is the one that you will have to spend at least 1-2 hours a night on IM'S and webcam getting to know her as a person.. If you don't make a significant investment in time your chances of ending with a girl that is pulling one over on you significantly increases..

That was my concern as I would hate to see you run into a not so great woman.. I would be very happy to see you be very successful and finding your love of your life..

There are beautiful women in Colombia - probably more per capita than anywhere I have been (accept South Beach).
There are beautiful women in the DR too.When I say beautiful I am not just saying attractive ... I am referring to the kind a beauty that makes anybody with a pulse gulp.

Personally, I find myself increasingly attracted to bony white chicks (might even marry one), and Russian girls are my favorite for sure.  Before I do, I intend to make sure I have no doubts.

There is much to fall in love with in Latin women too.  For me it is closer and easier for now.  Besides, one of my goals for 2008 was to learn Spanish and I am not there yet.

My point is that ALL these women are too good for most of us:)  We should be quite on the issue of Best. There is none.

That is incorrect.  Actually, I rather disparaged Russian ladies aside from their appearance!  I came to this board saying that I had been looking in Ukraine and did find the women there very attractive physically but did not like what I found beneath the beauty and that was why I was going to Colombia.  I said I was trying to adjust what I liked physically to a whole other culture because I liked on the inside what latinas have to offer much more compared to Russian ladies in general.  I stand by my trip report comment in that I saw many more "Hot" girls out on the streets in Eastern Europe than I did in Colombia.  But again, I do not want to be "married" to a Russian woman based on what I saw and experienced first hand.  There are attractive latin ladies, no doubt.  I just didn't see them in near the numbers as in Ukraine.  Doesn't mean I still don't want to find a cute, slender Latina..

Just look and you will find what you want. There are milions of beautiful women in South America, If you like Latinas Columbia is the country for you. Although I did see some drop dead gorgeous blonds in Sao Paulo also.

For me chemistry is more important than appearance. My wife does not think that she is beautiful. I tell her that she is very beautiful every day I see her.  It seems that everyone in Brazil thinks that a blond blue eyed woman is the pinnacle of beauty. I think they are wrong.
