My House is Done -sort of. . . .
« on: September 10, 2007, 06:42:37 PM »
Well- my house was completed this week and the builder gave his notification to transfer title.

And then, along came my girlfriend's mother with her magnifying glass. Then her grandmother. Then her aunt, followed by her uncle.

SO- I guess the house isnt done yet because it is not perfect. Looks OK to me but what do I know? I feel sorry for the project manager because his family-who financed the housing project- are ready to kill him.

If we are lucky, they will be done in 2 more weeks after removing all of the microscopic scratches, invisible pinholes, and the like. That is, unless the uncle talks the builder into knocking down the house and starting over.

The yard was put in yesterday and we have living room furnishings arriving next week.

I am looking forward to my next trip in October to finish furnishing the house.

Ya know ya said "finish furnishing the house".  That's something I've never experienced?  Women change their minds so much - one week she'll like the room one way and the next your in there moving the furniture while she's buying new drapes?

Fortunately, she is picking out the furniture types and design. I seem to be getting color choices for the most part. And I just make sure that the colors are matching our floor and paint combinations.

Although occasionally, I will say- up to you, but NO!!! Like when she said that she wanted a sandstone colored concrete yard with a few trees in planters. Not only NO, but hell no.

It has been alot of fun building this thing. Next July I will stay there a whole month to see how living in Udon will be on a longer term.
