Panama dumb

I thought Colombia was bad but these people are walking zombies…when it comes to customer service, especially in the malls and restaurants…they are on another planet.  They absolutely can’t make change – simple math, are beyond lazy and basically asleep at the switch…must be the heat. 

On the plus side, we are far more civilized here in Panama.  To that end, traffic actually stops for pedestrians (although, like Colombia they love their fricking horns), we have far superior coffee, better beer (microbrew, not the national brands), Cuban cigars, much better internet cafes, CNN/Fox in English, and of course…. plenty of ketchup.  Besides, the place is packed full of hot Colombians!!  Unfortunately…or fortunately depending on how you look at it – most are on the meter.  Maybe I will open an agency here (or did I already try that)?…heck, we could be honest on the 80/20 rule and just say we have 80% pros….FYI, THIS DOES NOT NEGATE MY RETIREMENT FROM COLOMBIA – JUST MAKING MY WAY SLOWLY NORTH

Panama is an aquired taste, either you like it or not. I have in my 9 years here met a person who is luke warm for panama, either they are cold or hot.

Sorry papi, i just saw your post, i was in Darien jungle looking for land, i did find some very nice young ladies, if you like pure indians, very friendly, invited me to fried bananas, rice and mistery meat.

This going back and forth , Cali, panama, Costa Rica Asia and then back again is a real frigen JOKE !. You need to put your rear end in one place and give it at least a year . You are doing nothing but digging yourself a bigger hole and you are a water spout that needs to be turned off before the bill come in. Serious papi, get some mental health help while you still can. i am not trying to be critical, but all these so called friends of yours keep giving you ATTA BOYS when they should be trying to help you instead of enabling you. Hmmm i got to try that sandwich!

I dont travel that far south as into FARC territory. A week or so ago, there was a gropu of FARC who was seen traveling into panama with there injured friends, to get some rest from the colombian government forzes, but that was juts 10km inside panama, very far from where i am. Hmmm i wonde if those guys have any nice sisters?

Here is a ketchup question..have you tried the MAGGI ketchup in panama? If so, how do you rate it? My gringo friends hate it!

Hey Papi,

I think Kiltboy gives you some good advice, you should listen.  Hopping around the world has not been very successful has it?  A couple weeks here, a couple weeks there, seems like a recipe for failure to me.  Also no decent woman when sizing you up would take you very seriously, you don't present an image of stability living the life style you do.  I don't mean this to be rude but I think its true.   If I were you, I'd put some roots down kind of like what Pete did and sit back and enjoy life. 

I also think you may be hanging out with the wrong crowd especially when in Cali.  Cali is full of users, its best just to avoid them at all costs.  Find a small group of amigos who are just your friends, not users, people who want good things for you not from you.

Go to Istmo- great beer!! microbrew. They have a lobster sandwich with marvelous fries served with plenty of tasty ketchup. Take a right one street past Manolos...which is across from the Veneto (new big casino/hotel). Istmo is on your right just past National rental car.

Panama has Havana club rum, great coffee and cuban cigars. Try Costa Azul near the Riande Continental - casual food but very good. Cigar bar across from the Marriott excellent place to hang...just be careful of the colombianas...these girls are not looking for agency chaps. I'd consider meeting you there but actually prefer nearby Costa Rica...mas tranquillo

KB, as you know, we spent a week or so together in Medellin a few years ago.  I thought we had a goodtime together and in fact we exchanged several emails following the trip yet never managed to hook up again.  I noticed that you had several issues too but I did not call you on it on a public forum.  Any personal attacks I made in the recent past were in response to darts you first tossed in my direction.  I am sorry we are no longer friends….I don’t think you are a bad guy we just are no longer amigos.  Good luck with your search but I would ask that you keep your personal attacks offline. I will do likewise.
