Be it in the name of patriotism or not, I can't see the sense in risking human lives to "show the colors--flag."  Not a lot of info on this as of the last day or so, but there have to be other ways--cables, counterweights
& mechanisms to do this.

I've seen our USA Military display fighter jets flying at super high speeds inches apart and a couple feet above the ground, I've seen soldiers jump from thousands of feet high and only open their parachutes milliseconds before they'd otherwise die (makes it harder for the enemy to detect/shoot them) and other wild stuff, but I can't help but think some senior officers probably made very bad decisions that resulted in these two soldiers deaths.

Hanging guys from a helicopter with a rope isnt rocket science. I have been rescued off a mountain and had the same type of ride. This is a routine procedure. There should be virtually no risk involved.
