Passport Cards

I was just curious if anyone here has applied for the U.S. Passport Card?

I like the idea of not carrying my regular passport for trips to Mexico, Canada, and the Bahamas.  But, I won't fork over the $20 for the convenience.  Maybe if it was $10 I go for it.

I guess it's intended for those who make frequent trips across the border, but who don't travel internationally.
