Rampage through Costa Rica
« on: April 20, 2014, 03:48:40 PM »
I just got back. Costa Rica is a beautiful land with great food and beautiful women. On the huge down size it's been Americanized to [snip]. I don't mind seeing a McDonalds but I don't want to see on every damn block along with Pizza huts, Taco Bells, Papa Johns, Subways and Quiznos. Some of these chains aren't even that big in here in America.  Along with the toxic American fast food culture I saw a a lot of fat women :(. There were some really nice ones but a lot of not so nice simply because they ate out constantly.
I stayed in San Jose the entire time Its kinda dirty of but what do you expect from the countries' largest city. There's a quite a bit do and the night life is pretty spot on. I'm not a monger or P4p, I personally wouldn't pay 700usd to fly to Costa Rica just to pay 4 sex, I can do that here in Dallas. Some of the gringos will brag about going to the whore houses and put it out there and the few Ticas I became cool with made fun and don't respect them. Costa Rica is a cool place and a short flight to just get away from the regular day to day [snip] here, but [snip]ty American culture has taken a foothold. I think this means I'll skip Panama and go to Nicaragua instead

Did you get up the mountain to Heredia? That's where the real lookers are. I don't really judge the "mongers" because sure some are scum, but I've met plenty of men in tough situations. They have kids and a frigid wife at home and their "fishing" trip with the buds in Costa Rica is the only time they get any nookie. As for the food what did you like? Costa Rica is known for a lot of things, but the food is definitely not one of them.

I love seafood so Camorens y arroz and anything that had shrimp and or fish. The 'Sodas' are pretty good deal and you get a lot of great tasting food. I also learned that pollo con arroz and arroz con pollo are 2 totally separate dishes lol

yea my wife and her family liked the rosti pollo which is nothing special at all. The Sodas are cheap but overall the food is pretty terrible. The one exception I can understand is what you note with the seafood. The only decent grocery stores are Fresh Market and they cost as much as the States.

That was the other downside to C.R was the cost, it is mildly expensive there

Seems that in a lot of places we go, the nicest people and beaches are off the beaten path. In fact in some places, including where we live right here in the south eastern USA, there are some beaches, or even areas along beach fronts, that people pretty much keep secret. Same with some towns along the Atlantic and Gulf Coast.

When the cruise ships start coming in, they ruin an area. The mom and pop run souvenir stores and restaurants are replaced by hamburger chains and shops catering to folks who want five T shirts for $10, made in China trinkets and a cheap greasy cheeseburger and fries. Out go the handmade arts and crafts and interesting local foods.

>>>As previously reported by the Costa Rica Star, the cost of living in Guanacaste is among the highest in the country. This can be mostly observed in the beach towns that make up Costa Rica’s Gold Coast, where celebrities such as Mel Gibson have built mansions and billionaires such as AOL’s former CEO Steve Case are building lavish resorts. This is where we find Tamarindo Beach, a beach community that is often referred to as “Tamagringo” due to its high number of expat residents.<<<

About all that matters to the Tica chaser is what it costs to eat and sleep in San Jose.

Costa Rica is not Colombia. The country has a population of 4.5m. More than half live in the greater San Jose area. With a newspaper advert you will get some rural and small community girls interested in getting on a bus to meet you though. Going to the tourist traps though isn't the place to get it done.

Im going to revisit Colombia and C.R. I think I would have liked Colombia better had I gone to a bigger city like Medellian or Bogota. I didn't get to do too much in C.R as it was kind of just a spur of the moment thing. I [snip]ing love Latin America. The people are awesome, great food and beautiful women. It's amore

Come hang out with me in medellin.  If you're outgoing like you say you are, we could post up on a sidewalk bench and literally have an endless supply of beautiful girls to approach and flirt with.  You can do that ALL DAY LONG if you want to, and have a blast.  Try that in dallas, you'll probably get cussed out or pepper sprayed.

And don't worry about your spanish, I can handle that part.  Plus we can always recruit a couple of young colombian dudes to join our team.  The chicas will be all over us lol!!

I'm not greedy just give a me a cool one with a few back up options. I've hired a Spanish tutor and been watching http://www.ecuadortv.ec to better acclimate my ear. Its actually been helping. I can hold on me just put me in the same room with a nice one. It's always better with a wingman. I missed out on in C.R she gave me the eyes but I'm just not confident enough in my Spanish and got a bit scared but I approached a few other later

I might have to take you up on that. My birthday isn't too far away and Avianca always has specials going to Colombia and a few other places in Central and South America. Might be great for a quick fling

Avianca?  If you're in dallas why not fly spirit airlines?  I'm catching the bus to dallas just because it's way cheaper for me to fly spirit than anything I found locally.

I've hired a Spanish tutor

Actually there are many language schools based in latin countries that offer classes via skype.  It might be alot more economical than paying a us based spanish tutor.

Average price for private spanish lessons in latin america is $10-$20 usd per hour.  An american based tutor is going to want around $50 bucks an hour.  That's a big difference.

If all goes according to plan(meaning if I haven't run out of money by then lol) I'll still be in town.  All you've got to do is let me know how you roll and I'll have some dates set up for us.

I don't see you as the 'sit on a park bench and hoot n holler at the young hotties passing by' type.  I see you more as the 'go out to a nice restaurant with some educated, well dressed, well mannered women and have interesting grown up conversaton' type.

Or we could always do the strippers, chugging aguardiente, rowdy colombiano buckwild party until 10am the next day if that's what your prefer...   ;D

You'd be surprised. The type of woman I'm dealing with usually dictates my behavior and how I handle things. I don't discriminate on or judge anyone. My only expectation is that people are straight up with me from the jump. A girl acting like she's an angel looking for Mr. Right during the day while she's your average prepago at night...well, I'm sure you've read about some ways I deal with them.  ;D  My only real limitation is paying for it.

Well....that and hanging around coke heads. I don't care where the night begins, if you're with a coke head it's only going to get worse as it progresses. I was at a club on Friday and this guy was drunk AND coked out of his mind. He had been tooting in the bathroom all night. His night ended around 3 a.m. trying to fight 4 linebacker sized bouncers that were "escorting" him out of the club. Unfortunately the place is on the second floor of a building and the only entrance/exit is up/down two flights of stairs. OUCH!

I watched the movie "Forest Gump" a hundred times and it's helped me immensely in my travels!  Even today, my wife occasionally reminds me: "Stupid is as stupid does" ;D ;D ;D

Well I don't personally partake, but if you're talking about the rowdy, late late night colombian party spots I'm sure you already know that people are going to be tooting it up pretty much out in the open.

I think two classy guys like us better stick to the good girls and the nice, tranquilo places.  And there's no way in hell I'd fix you up with any damn prepago lol!!  Come on man give me a little credit.  Most likely the girls you'll find me hanging out with will be just friends and neither you nor I will have any chance of scoring any type of affection.  That is unless I have an actual novia by that time.  I'm alot tamer and more conservative than you might think.

Same thing in the clubs here...it's pretty much done out in the open. What I'm talking about is when you're with someone you know well, then there's this other guy that shows up, he's on the nose candy all freaking night and his high powered, super charged agenda just became everyone else's. What really pisses me off is when a guy runs out and wants everyone to go with him to wherever and score more. Like I said, I don't judge. If people want to sniff coke until sunrise far be it from me to think any less of them. I'm just gonna need them to stay over there with that bull$hit.

I didn't think you'd introduce me to any prepagos. It's just from my experience, when you're approaching hot women in any big city in Colombia, you'll often run across them. And again, I don't judge. I have a couple of good female friends that are working girls here and in Colombia. And although I hardly associate with them, there's a lot to be learned from those types of women.

Trust me I've hung out with the cokeheads before.  It can get super annoying lol!  It's one thing to hang with a colombiano who's doing it and can handle himself.  It's a totally different thing when it's another gringo tourist who's way out of his element and scoring some more becomes a mission filled with all kinds of risk and uncertainty.  SCREW THAT!!  I'm too old for that crap, seriously.

And I don't think I've ever randomly came across any prepagos.  I don't think I've ever even met any actual prepagos.  I've been to the strip clubs and I uderstand that the girls who work in those places are basically hookers, but I don't think they're what you'd call "prepagos".

The only prepagos that I've knowingly seen are the ones who hang around poblado where obvious sex tourists hang out.  And I've only seen them accompanied by their boyfriends/clients.  They stick out like a sore thumb in an otherwise nice, upscale neighborhood.

Even if I did come across any prepagos I don't think they would pay much attention to me.  I don't look like a guy with money.  Hell I don't even look like a gringo.  I look like your average, poor, young latino, so I don't attract golddiggers at all really.

I've worked in and around universities in Colombia. You'll run across most of them there. Malls, nice restaurants, ice cream shops, etc. You've probably ran across quite a few and just didn't know what type of women they were. You're right...there's a big difference between prepagos and strippers/prostitutues. Strippers and Prostitutes are night owls. You'll hardly see them during the day. Prepagos live normal lives...it's just that they usually have certain "physical enhancements" that give them away. A prepago in Bogota once told me that girls never make a conscious decision to jump into that lifestyle. It's usually just the combination of a pretty girl being really desperate for money and an old, rich guy hitting on them at the right time. Very few stop there though. By the time one old guy gets sick of them and moves on, in their minds there's not an easier, more convenient way to make ends meet. So they find another sponsor, and the cycle continues until some dumb gringo comes along and puts a ring on their finger.  ;D

F*ck no! You get what you pay for and I'm simply not that cheap. Yea it's a cheap ticket but the airline is crap, for an extra 200usd, I was in a great plane with a beautiful staff and free drinks for the entire flight
