Hey Pig,

Does she have everything ready for her interview? Originals of all documents submitted? Proof of relationship? Did she do the CFO seminar? Try to get the medical at least a week in advance of interview.

Don’t you have your 2nd anniversary coming up in a few months (early June)?

Keep in mind that if she has been married 2 years or more when she arrives, she will be admitted as a IR-1 instead of CR-1. An IR-1 gets a 10-year Green Card on arrival and doesn’t have to go through the Removal of Conditions hassle after 2 years. Just another option to consider.

Note: The NLE results should be out any day now…   ;)

uncle Ray where have you been hiding? haven't seen you on the board as much
i had to ask KFC about the email NVC sent out to us. he says its "package 4" & that this is a good thing. sounds good to me i will ask about the CFO
she did something a few weeks ago but it could have been nursing related. i think she wants to do the medical ASAP to get that out of the way.

I would also add for her to get a CEMAR -certificate of marriage from NSO. It list all her marriages (only one should be listed and that would be to you- if more than one then you are in trouble ha ha). Lately I have read that the embassy have been asking for it.

Sorry!

The removal of conditions is just another petition package where you have to gather and present all kinds of evidence that your marriage is real. Then you need to wait forever for the approval. Filing fees are $590 and you'll need to make 1-2 more trips to your local CIS office with a possible interview.

I can't tell you if you should wait another month or not. That's up to you. If it were me, I would wait another month.

Now if she wants to try the NLE one more time before she leaves, she could take the exam with her visa in hand and jump on the plane the next day (?).

Good luck with the interview!

i'm really on the fence & i guess we will have 2 see how it all plays out as far as delays. any delay (they need more information or co sponsor) and she will have passes the 2 year mark.
-----do i roll the dice ?  hard to say-------
there are 2 sides to every coin  & i'll have to look at both sides.

Maybe she means pics of the two of you guys together as evidence of a bonafide relationship.

Piggy, it's about time you learn Filipino English - don't you know when they say "ABC" they actually mean "DEF".  I learn that from my wife - she was a school teacher back in the PI and she is also an expert in gibberish & pig latin.  ;D

Come on Pig, YOU should be guiding her and making sure she has all the proper documentation ready for her interview. THAT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!

She needs visa photos for her medical exam and her visa. They require 3 but I would have her get some extras. They DO NOT need visa photos of you!!

She can go to a Florofoto store and they know the correct type of photos for a US visa. There are a bunch of them in the Metro Manila area.

Read this bozo...

Sweet!!!

Was she one of the lucky one who did everything in 1 day?
Normally it is a 2 day process.

Since you are beyong help have already given up on buying items for Marily before she get here. You should now (if you haven't already done so) start looking for & price tickets (not book them - you do that after she have the visa in hand).

Check all the available options - price, frequency, dates, connections, POEs, etc,. You do not want to be rushing at the last moment trying to find tickets and you also want to give her enough time to prepare herself and to say her goodbyes.

Since you are beyong help have already given up on buying items for Marily before she get here. You should now (if you haven't already done so) start looking for & price tickets (not book them - you do that after she have the visa in hand).

Check all the available options - price, frequency, dates, connections, POEs, etc,. You do not want to be rushing at the last moment trying to find tickets and you also want to give her enough time to prepare herself and to say her goodbyes.
already been checking & just shy of $1000 is what i have been coming up with.POE looks to almost always be Detroit, but there are a few others. we are going to wait till june 5th/6th for her to arrive. this will set her up from the get go with a 10 year GC.
them we are
FREE, FREE AT LAST!!!

now as far as me buying things for her before she arrives
i know anything that is pink will hit the mark.
however besides the 20lbs of jasmin rice i already have i want her to pick out the brand/type that SHE wants. i feel this is the safe way to do it ;)

thanks

She cannot fly under her name & you earn the miles; it do not work that way. The miles would be earned under her own name/SkyMiles account and then she can transfer them to your account or share them.

That's very nice of you, Pig. But remember she doesn't know the brands that are sold in the US, so it might be a little difficult for her to chose. I remember on my first day of vacations in the US I went to the pharmacy to get some basics like deodorant and headache medicine and it took me a while to figure out what I wanted.

A good thing would be have a small supply with the basics, then take her to shop and guide her through it. or simply ask her. She might want you to chose everything, at least for when she gets there.

Other tip is to tell her to never convert the prices to pesos, otherwise she won't want to buy anything. (Assuming that food is much cheaper in the Philippines.) I went to the grocery store to buy whole bread, and besides being overwhelmed with the choices of types and brands, I kept thinking about how expensive they were (and how big the portions were). A friend (from Colombia) saw me staring at the counter and told me to not convert to Reais. It helped me.

And don't forget piggy that she will be going by the metric system until she learn our system. You will be saying ounces & pounds while she will be saying grams & kilos - so you do the converting....ha ha. And also, a sack of rice in the US is 100 lbs.  ;D

Piggy, next time you marry a girl from the PI and send her a prepaid phone, get her a TracFone.

The phone is free and an additional 90 days will cost you $20.

Tight budget? I pay around $4/mo for air time...

only 1 problem , trac phone doesn't get a signal for sh*t in this area.
so i'll have to suck it up.
i figure it's just part of doing business.

Pigster there are many converter apps out there. You get one based on what OS your phone have - Android, iOS, WebOS or Windows.

As for cellular service when she gets here, why don't you just keep her on a prepaid plan. It's not like she will be making calls all over the place to have her on a regular plan.

When my wife first came I got a prepaid plan for her on TMobile - $100 refill and the minutes are good for 365 days.

Piggy, you have to learn how to be a wise shopper aka a slickdealer.  ;D
