About me and Hello to the Forum

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jerel.  I am 37 years old and am originally from New Jersey but I live in Dallas, Texas now.  I relocated to Dallas to work for a large aerospace company.   I am currently committed to a very nice girl in Guaruja, Brasil (about 60 km southeast of Sao Paulo).   I will be traveling down on 17 July to see her.  So far so good.  Also, attending a Brasilian Church here in Dallas where I am introducing her to some people in the church.  I started taking portuguese classes again.  I haven't had classes in 3 years but to my surprise I had not forgotten much.

I am glad that I found this forum.  Looks like a good place to learn and meet people who share the same interests in marrying a woman from another country.   I am tired of peeople telling me I am either crazy for what I am trying to do OR trying to convince me to find someone local.

Welcome to the board from the Asian side.

Don't be too hard on those who care about you not understanding from their
experiences.  They are in their comfort zone and your efforts to be satisfied is pulling them out of it. 

When I told my Bishop I was going to the R.P. to get married he did the same, started warning me how many possibilities of failure there was.  I just pointed out how many failures occurred here with AWs.  Now he thinks the world of my wife and 3 kids.  Same with my sister and mother who "warned me".

Hey Jerel. Happy to have you here. One of my best friends is married to a Brazilian girl. She still looks great after raising 3 kids, now in high school and college.

yeah man stick to youre guns, Im leving wed for Jamies place in Baranquilla but my mother thinks im going to Miami...lol for buiness on top of that im 40 now was going to do this when i was 25, now im kikcing my self in the asse for not going sooner. My friends think im insane but thats always been the case, they sure dont mind staring at the pics of the girls though..lol

Hi Jerel - I didn't know there were that many Brazilians in Dallas, but then I've never specifically looked for them. I live up by where Midway crosses Bush Turnpike, what part of town are you in?
