La Almeria neighborhood in Medellin: Good, bad or somewhere in between?
No, I am not planning on staying there but I know a girl that lives there. Just wondering what it is like in terms of: safety/crime, incomes/demographics/class, etc.

I just 'dropped' the 'little guy' from google maps and checked it out. It looks like a pretty clean and respectable neighborhood. I suggest you do the same to form your own opinion. Get her address and you can see the building and the street. On one of my first visits to Colombia, as I was making travel arrangements, the agent suggested a hotel in Cartagena. I 'dropped' the 'little guy' and did a scouting mission. Learned it was a wrong move to stay at that hotel. YMMV!

been through there twice, its ok, normal crime, normal neighborhood. prob level 3 to high 3 in status

it's better than average....I'd say a strata 4.
Not much chance of having a problem unless you like to walk around while talking on your Iphone.

I've been in a LOT worse than La Almeria and I am sure many of you have as well. Good idea to check it out beforehand though.

Your not concerned about getting MUDD s or CaliPros "sloppy seconds" ;D ;)
