Sex Tourism, Not Just Cartagena and Medellin
« on: August 17, 2018, 04:37:42 PM »
There is a big long article in this week's Revisit SEMANA about sex tourism in Colombia that starts with a run down on Quinchía, a scenic town in Risarelda Department where there is a major prostitution ring offering girls down to twelve years old.  It goes on to describe the activities in the Eje Cafetero, Quindío, Caldas and so on including Pereira and even Santa Rosa de Cabal where the famous termales or hot springs are located. SEMANA visited the area and went about interviewing various sources coming up with statistics like services being offered from $70.000 (about twenty four dollars) to $300.000, 60% of the girls having a kid and all of them leading a double life. However later in the article a girl says she thinks her mother knows what she's doing but she's trying to hide it from  younger sister who she doesn't want to follow in her footsteps. She added that her novio knew but never brought it up. I've heard this last before. A little further on the article cites a business called Good Girls Colombia Sex Resort run from Cali by an American, Johny Smith (nom de guerre?) This isn't my area of expertise and may be old news but from the videos it looks like he has or rents a finca and runs his sex business in the far south of Cali like  maybe Jamundi. He also appears to have expanded from that and offers sex tours to an un named Caribbean island (no doubt off the coast of Cartagena). A few Youtube videos pop up when you search his business. One, linked below shows a fourtyish guy arriving at an airport in Colombia. I can't place the airport and mural. Medellin? Calipro can you identify it? Anyway links below:

I can’t identify the airport....but it’s not Medellin Rio Negro airport. The is another smaller regional airport in Medellin but I have never been to it.

Thanks Calipro. That airport is Olaya Herrera but I don't remember seeing that mural there.

That doesn't seem to be Olaya Herrera either. I did a Google street level view, which was from Aug. 2017 and it doesn't resemble it in the least. I am searching though. I looked at Armenia, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta, (which is still under construction). It has to be a smaller airport since they don't have a separate by-pass lane for departing traffic.

Edit: I think I may have found it. There is a 'privado' airport at Cartagena called 'Million Air'. Looking at the cars, I don't think they would be found at Rafael Nuñez without an armed escort. There is no way to really identify it since Google Earth will not let you go near the place, (it hasn't been photographed!). But it has to be near Cartagena since that is where GoodGirls is pushing their resort.

was in my gym yesterday,  three gringos never seen before. would assume they were her for the festival. prob between 25-32 years. talking pretty loud, could easily hear their conversations while working out next to them, all there were talking about was prepagos, girls, how cheap medellin is and how easy it was to find women for sex here.  i just kind of rolled my eyes a little and moved over.

Don't worry, Mudd. Maybe they will be beaten, robbed and killed before they leave! I am sure that there are people you could tip off who would ensure that this happens.

Good grief Utopia what part of Mudd's overheard conversation put you off? Let he who has never come too Colombia hoping for sex cast the first stone.

Anyway, Willstuby great detective work. I would like to confirm by seeing that mural. I'm very surprised the airport can't be viewed on Google street view. To my surprise even the lowest strata barrios in Cali have all  been photographed by Google. Actually I'm beginning to wonder if that airport is even in Colombia.

I can't speak for Utopia, but his post made me chuckle a bit.

The reason why Bueno is over MANY YEARS Mudd has posted regularly about the dangers of Medellin and how many people have been "beaten, robbed, and killed" there.

As a newbie here Bueno, you have missed a lot of those posts over the years by Mudd which is why Utopia's comment made me laugh.

I'm not new Chris I've just had to change my handle a number of times over the years either because of being banned or losing my password. I started posting as Cali-vet. But I admit from a quick scan I missed the intended humor of Utopia's post.

Without a doubt, it is Colombia. Look at the license plate on the cars at the airport and as the Audi enters the compound. I wish the resolution was good enough to see which department it hails from!

Yes that's true. Actually I think the plate on the Audi says Cali and the images of the "resort" look like they're down around Jamundi.

Not a newbie by any means. Just a new Avatar.

He just missed the sarcasm.
