Yep been to both Aruba and Curacao.
Tips? Yeah..bring plenty of cash..very expensive.
Been there, "A, B, C" islands. On a really clear day, you can actually see Venezuela from the upper hills of Aruba.
The local merchants were terrified with desperado Venezuelans, fleeing 10 million percent a year inflation, trying to exchange their worthless money for US dollars. Some came by small boat selling produce. ATMs weren't even available because they couldn't keep them stocked w USDs.
Been a minute, (My avatar is my wife's least attractive side of her on an Aruba beach) but I know Venezuela hasn't improved--what a mess.
We used our credit cards, NP, but I'd look into current situation further.
Aruba (and Curacao) was actually pretty nice, beautiful if too dry, good infrastructure. IOther than Venezuelans, pretty safe. f you have a Dutch connection, they live pretty good. Thought of buying a place there, but too little to do long term, too close to Venezuela....
I thought Old Town Key West was boring -claustrophobic--we sold our home there.
Further up the Gulf of Mexico, Siesta Key by Sarasota FL, has it ALL (best beach in USA) even wifey wouldn't mind us relocating there.
Now If somebody here could spot me a few million bucks, it'd really help the S.K. cause!
