if your flying american airlines to south america, check before you buy your  thicket, they are no charging $ 55 for 2nd bag for some cities. Read the fine print * (asterisk )

Next week, I hear they're going to be charging that for a little bag of stale peanuts. If it wasn't so easy to get free miles, I'd never fly USA carriers.  They just suck soooo badly.

2nd bag out of Colombia means long time in thr queue, hence checking inside 2nd bag - for drugs!

dont know going out of colombia, but going in they are charging $ 55 for 2nd bag  for some cities.

Seems that airlines are clever about how they make their money.  It's easy to compare ticket prices at sites like hotwire.com or bookingbuddy.com but it could be apples to oranges if the hidden fees are significant.

Wife and I want to travel to Peru and bring a suitcase of things for the family to sell.  Might just be cheaper and less hassle to hand the family the baggage fee in cash.
