Did you guys see that Miss Honduras and her sister were both shot and killed by her sister's boyfriend? Happened on November 13, the police found their bodies buried in a river bank this morning.

I read that article the other day, that's pretty tragic.

This murder doesn't really seem to be related to street crime/assaults, but Honduras is probably the most dangerous country in Latin America right now (even worse than Venezuela). San Pedro Sula is the most violent city in the world.

Been hearing for a while how murder and crime in general is so bad that it's off the charts in Honduras, but this even surprised me a bit. Sickening. >:( :(
The United Nations has said that Honduras, especially after 2009's coup d'état, has the highest rate of intentional homicides of any nation. Tourists are a major crime target there and apprehension of criminals rare.

Sadly, Honduras is the most dangerous place in the world outside of a war zone. Steer clear.

I was reading it has the most homicides for a country not at war

This website has some wacky software.
And to be fair, this was a crime of passion. No street gangs or drug cartels involved.
Alot of my honduran friends on facebook are saying how unfair it is that this story has gained so much coverage while all the other senseless crime and violence that goes on in honduras is mostly swept under the rug and not covered by the major media outlets.

This forum's software is dated and buggy. The mods should change it to something like PhpBB or MyBB.

Yeah they have a point. Nobody cares when regular people get killed but when it's a beauty queen it becomes a big news story.

Yes. Actually this board was pretty bad for information on Honduras as the people with no experience there couldn't possibly believe it was not safe for my wife's family. Someday I hope it will be safe and open for tourists, but as of right now it is hell on earth. The priests don't have to lie about hell now, because they got Honduras. No need to go to the middle east for that. It's right south of our border... I suppose hell belongs south.
