Personally, I think before we think of passing it on, the purple G string should be retired and hung from the rafters--it just wouldn't be right for anyone else to wear it....

Hey pig,

Just specify your size and color. I hope they don't send you a recycled" G-string from a former member.

Hey Rob,

My purple G-string was retired after my 5000th post. It is currently on display in the lobby at P-L headquarters in Gotham City. It is only brought out now to be paraded though the streets on my birthday or to interrogate spies and trolls. Water boarding is a pleasure in comparison to "G-stringing!"

Eventually, I would like to see it in the Smithsonian or perhaps making a tour of the Hardrock Casinos, so that more people can witness it's glorious splendor!

Patrick:

Congratulations on your marriage.  I've followed some of your posts, and I wish that you and your new spouse have a long, healthy relationship.  We should all be so fortunate.

Now that you're "taken" I suspect we'll see a significant decline in posting frequency.

Hey DLG,

Glad you're still posting. I wasn't sure how to read your last post and thought perhaps you were signing off for a bit. Glad I was wrong--you have a lot to contribute. I am intrigued about your experiences as a pilot and second career in finance. It must have been a bitch to have to switch gears like that and jump in when the economy makes less sense than ever before. (at least to me) Yea--some might find it 'off topic' but 'off topic' seems pretty common here actually, and I am guilty in the first, there

I bet you're right that when Piglett finally gets his lovely bride over here that we'll see at least a period where him posting drops, but I think he'll still show up from time to time after she lands. He's a great guy--I thought at first that he was a pure New Englander from his common sensical witticisms, but he's been around a good bit. A fine fellow indeed.

If you look at the most prolific (that sounds weird) posters here, some of them, like Dave H and Ray, have been married for over ten years. My wife and I are closing in on five years---we'll have to see about ten--play it as it goes, one day at a time I figure. No matter how sweet and tolerant a woman is, it still takes work, maintenance and sometimes people can grow apart all the same, especially in the American culture/lifestyle.

I have said and still feel that a Fil Am marriage probably stands a better chance of lasting in the Philippines, especially if a guy can resist all the lovely 'distractions' that are presented to him over there--the 'rock star' effect, if you will.

There is a good bunch of coconuts in here and yes, it sure would be a hoot to get us all together in one way or another! We'd have to make a special dunking booth and put Ray in it to raise money for Filipino orphans though--I'm sure that'd be a huge 'hit'!!  ;D :D

Anyways, as is my sorry style, I'm a rambling on here. I'm glad Piglett's hit a 1000 and hope that's just a good start and that you'll be following suit in more ways than one!

Well my wife's CR-1 visa is probably still a year away, so everyone here will have to keep putting up with me for at least that long. but i may still have questions about trying to figure out a woman from the other side of the planet so i can't really see me just falling off the face of the earth for months at a time.

I also now have some in site on the way things seem to work in the remote provinces so i will also be willing to share that with other members here.

Yea, Piglett--and you'll keep on learning more and more! I am still learning--even Dave H, who's living over there for years now and not in some gated enclave or in a big city, will tell you there's so much to learn and it's kind of hard  even for him to figure things out sometimes.

Just tonight, my wife was talking with her brother, who's in Manila, waiting for weeks now for his merchant marine ship to get to a port he can fly to it for his next assignment.

My wife said that the ship was delayed in New Orleans and it would be a while longer before her bro could fly to Turkey to get on board.

I asked her "Honey--why was it delayed in New Orleans and when will he be able to fly to Turkey?"

She replied "I didn't ask".

I bet neither did her brother, because the 'why' or 'when' just isn't as important to them as it probably is to the average American in a similar situation. My wife's clan is more inclined to 'go with the flow' and 'roll with it' accepting things that really aren't changeable anyways, instead of getting in a tizzy about things they can't change anyways.

I wish I was as good about not getting pissed about things I should know I can't change anyways!

Oh--I have to go now--I don't want to miss the Weather Channel's 'weather on the eights'!

Hey Rob,

Jeff S,

What I respect as much, if not more than your marriage's longevity, is how well your child has turned out!
