Just watched this documentary on the men's rights movement on Amazon prime.

It was interesting...but I have little hope for the American male as a whole. So many guys have been so damaged by feminist indoctrination that some of them can't even come to Colombia without being taken advantage of by women. jajaja

I just watched it and found it pretty interesting.

I am generally weary of ideologues/activists...no matter what their perspective is. In the real world there are usually more nuances and grey areas.

That said, the filmmaker displayed an ability to hear all sides including the mens rights activists as well as the feminist scholars. Would have been interesting to hear Camile Paglia in this film (she is a feminist who has been critical of the dogma of traditional feminism and sympathetic to some of the MRA's concerns).

Wow!

Where do I start.

I think in a nutshell too many guys think women are some how more valuable than themselves...especially if they are beautiful women.

This book gives the basics on the female agenda....whether women themselves even realize it or not.

https://www.amazon.com/Rational-Male-Rollo-Tomassi-ebook/dp/B00FK901R8

It isn't just feminist ideology that makes it so hard for a guy to find an wife....it is a whole social and economic system that makes men less relevant to women in the U.S.A

Women in Colombia are just more interested in men in general than women in the U.S.A.

And they reason why is because Colombian women need men more than American women need men in their lives.

So what are the economic and social differences between the two countries.

Easy legal access to abortion in the U.S. not so much in Colombia. People  in Colombia are on average about 10 years younger than the US population. There are just a lot more younger women per 100 thousand people then there are in the U.S. Most because people actually have more children and less abortion. Which makes it a lot easier to find young hot attractive women.

Child support is rarely enforced in Colombia....in the US the government comes at you with all they have.

No food stamps in Colombia....no care for dependent children or low cost housing for mothers. And not welfare checks.

Add in cheap and easy access for P4P and you can see why Colombia guys will not jump through hoops or support a woman with another guys children.

In colombia guys are on top and women are on the bottom....in the US women hold all the cards including whether or not your unborn child lives or dies.

Then if she lets it live...she get child support and has a huge say in how much you will see your child.

I know a guy in the U.S. that pays his child's mother money under the table on top of child support just to he can spend more time with his kid.  If he doesn't pay her....she gives him problems about seeing his child.

this book was an eye opener as well

Glad you didn't sugar coat it. Yep, I think economics is a big driver of it. Women simply don't "need" a man like they did say in 1960 (at least in the U.S., Canada, etc.). That makes it even harder for us older guys.

At the company where I work we recently hired this relatively young 30-32 year old guy from Europe (he has dual US citizenship). Tall, good looking, outgoing and former male model apparently. Had a drink with him after work one night. He proceeds to tell me he is banging the bartender. Why on earth this guy would want to sleep with this toad is beyond me?!?

Granted she is only 27 but damn this guy should not be wasting his time on this stuff. Of course, he is just doing it because it is easy. She is merely a "side dish" while he looks for what he really wants. In the meantime, this lady is thinking prince charming can really be hers.

An acquaintance of mine who is Latino and only about 35 years old told me he is done with wasting his time on Latinas (or any women) in the U.S. He LOVES going to Asia...and he ain't ever looking back.

Warren Farrell was one of the more interesting and eye opening interview subjects in the documentary. I found him very compelling, esp. given his history of support for N.O.W. and being the only male to serve on its board. As someone interested in political and social history I am embarrassed to say I was not aware of him before the movie. Very interesting guy.

And the longer they've been here, met other ladies who've gotten lucrative divorces, add in they---namely your 'wife', becoming increasingly 'North Americanized,' which is only helped by her getting a job with pay that eventually makes your financial assistance unnecessary any longer, and it's NOT a pretty picture here in 'the land of plenty'......

I've worked and earned money since I could walk. Invested, wheeled and dealed. Made a lot of money, pissed, otherwise lost a lot,  made a fair bit back. My whole life--bought three houses, gained equity....

Not that I'm rich, by almost any USA person's definition, but for well over thirty years,  I've had stock market investments. I'm right about at a point where I can retire completely from work and allowing for anticipated inflation and inevitable costs like travel, health, home, car repair, replacement costs, etc, still probably stay a bit ahead.

So I was NOT happy last week, when one of my IRA account managers told me that in the advent of divorce, ( I just HAD to ask, LOL) that just because we've 'only' been married twelve years, that doesn't mean she'd only get half of what wealth has accrued SINCE we wed.

He informed me that she'd almost certainly get (without the Judge using very unusual descretion) half of any IRA money's invested and accrued since day ONE, which was before she  was even BORN. Oh, and half of all bank saved money's too....

Ain't that a kick in the balls?

Here's what I've been coming home to since 2012. They don't make many women like my wife in the US....

Finally a whiff of common sense from a female perspective...

If I was a guy dating in the USA I would invest in a couple of these to record what is happening in the common areas of my home.

Of course it won't stop you from being accused...but it might just keep you out of jail.

Jail is bad enough, but a lot of men in the  USA are also losing their reputations, jobs--their livelihoods,  merely based on verbal accusations,  accusations that never even are substantiated in court or otherwise. The "innocent until proven guilty" presumption seems to have been dismissed.

A guy gets accused and often loses his job in short order. The scenario all but begs women to wreak havock, out of revenge or otherwise. Publicity and potential career, financial gain, also seem to encourage 'copy cat' scenarios.

No, I am not saying that there aren't predatory sex offenders out there--there are and always will be, but I don't think the situation is balanced and fair currently.

Your IRA account manager does not know what he is talking about (I know what state you live in and the law there intimately).  Not sure how to say it without sounding blunt and harsh.  What he said is simply not true in your state.
