Immigrant Visa interview passed- sort of.
« on: December 09, 2010, 08:03:09 AM »
My wife had her interview in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday. After a lengthy interview, she was approved, except that her police clearance had expired the day before. She now has to go back to Bangkok with a new clearance on monday to receive the visa.

Well then I'm happy and sad for her!  :)  Hopefully it's not too hard to renew the police clearance. Once that's done, is she coming here soon?

Hopefully this is just a 'fly in the ointment'-- that the most critical and worrisome things have gone by. How picayune -- one day over!

For all the selfless. expert help William 3rd has selflessly offered people here and elsewhere over the years, I would like to think that just about everyone here wishes them the very best.

She has to return to Bangkok on Monday with a certified copy of her birth certificate- the original didnt have a stamp that they, the embassy gods wanted on it- and a new police clearance, since the old one had expired by one day and she might have become a criminal in that 24 hour period. LOL.

As soon as we have the visa, she will shop plane tickets over there. I have run some preliminary prices here but I think she can do better there.

She is going to have to close the house up by herself and arrange for the gardening and maid service while she is gone.

William III,

I have watched that Kiefer Sutherland dude on the show '24 Hours' and an awful lot of bad stuff can go down in 24 hours! :D

Yeah, Robert watching too much tv again  ;D

She should have the visa in hand in no time flat.

And yep, prices should be better on her end. We too are checking prices & with the exception of EVA Air everything on her end is cheaper.
If we were all forced to wear a warning label, what would yours say?

Hey William,

Good luck and best wishes! Hopefully the embassy gods won't piss you off too much...for their own sake! They may have wished that they messed with someone else!  ;D

Hey Rob,

Very true! It is amazing how much trouble my wife and I can cause in the Philippines in 5 minutes or less...while following the laws or doing the "right" thing!  ;D

If the process were easy, everyone would do it.  I messed up the proof of assets paperwork, requiring my wife to make a second trip to the embassy a month later.  She was not happy with me about that.  :-[ :'(

She now has an appointment at the consulate on Dec 27. They will call her to let her know when the visa is completed They estimate that the 30th will be the day.

I am already pissed off but this BS has been going on for over 2 years. They know that the 2 year deadline is approaching and if they wait any longer, she gets a ten year card when she enters!!!!
