Buenos Aires hotel on beach??
« on: April 03, 2006, 06:24:07 PM »
Has anybody been to Beunos Aires, Argentina?  Can anyone recomend a good hotel for a honeymoon on the beach?  And are the beaches nice there compared to the beaches in San Andres, Colombia?

Any help would be appreciated.

I just happen to have a beautiful timeshare on the beach in Buenos Aires. Wire me $500 by Western Union and I guarantee you're going to love it. later we can talk about a beachfront timeshare I have an Arizona.

Seriously though, Porteños go to Mar del Plata and Florianópolis, Brazil when they want to go to the beach. I've heard that the former is not that great, and I lived for three years in the latter and it is wonderful. There's also Punta del Este, Uruguay, but I've never been there. An option that I strongly recommend is Foz do Iguaçu, right on the border of Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina. you can stay at the Sheraton on the Argentine side, which is the only hotel inside the national park and which can give you a room directly overlooking the falls. That's probably where I'll spend my honeymoon.

We're looking for direct flights from Bogota to avoid obtaining transit visas.  The only direct flight available from BOG is to Beunos Aires and Cordoba.  Since we are looking for more of a beach setting, Cordoba is out.

The other countries don't have direct flights, al least none that don't have lengthy layovers in non-transit visa countries.

Thanks for the insight though.  But anyone know anything about Beunos Aires and how it would compare to San Andres?

You are an American male.  Act like it.  You are the top of the food chain.

I think I just understood the idiot comment and the timeshare in AZ remark.  It's because the main city of Beunos Aires is not located on the beach.  I knew this, however it does have a large tourist zone very close to Beunos Aires that is located on the beach.

Beaches such as:
Orense
Pinamar
Reta
San Bernardo
and about 12 other major beaches.

So if anybody with any knowledge of the area could let me know please.  I'm hoping to book before my trip to Colombia this sunday.

Yeah, that's true.

I guess I'll just stick to San Andres.  It's a beautiful location anyways.

Thanks.

Montrealer -

Why not take a look a Isla Margarita off of Venezuela?  I am not sure about whether she would need a visa though.  You might look into it.

Cono,
VZ does require a visa for Colombians, but thanks anyways.

I think we're going to stick to San Andres.
