Please be advised that the FBI has reported to our liasons that there has been a tremendous influx in AOS fingerprinting lately. The result is that the process has now backed up beyond the 12 week prior processing time to beyond the 14 week processing that they consider to be unacceptable.
There is nothing to be done about it and most cases of interest will not see any appreciable change in processing times. The only problem is that an AOS without a recent security check cannot be approved until the security check is completed.
